Title: WTB: PC Engine Duo R or RX
Post by: IMTheWalrus610 on July 17, 2015, 02:24:13 AM
Hey everyone.  I was referred here by someone on the Neo-Geo forums since I'm looking to start collecting TG/PC Engine stuff.  I managed to get a cheap TG16 system (just the system), but now I'm exploring getting a Duo R or RX.  My thinking is that between a Duo R or RX plus a regular TG16 I should be in good shape to play most things.  I suppose I would prefer to have it modded as well, preferably with component.

Offers/advice welcome.  Thanks!

Check with Turbokon and KeithCourage; they sometimes have systems available.  By the way, don't shy away from the original PCE Duos.  Once they've been recapped, they're generally just as reliable as the R and RX.

PCE and CD system can cost a bit more than a Duo.

FWIW RX only differs from R in that 6 button controller was included.  Nothing else differs internally so don't fall for the pricier RX console if you go on eBay.  RX console without 6 button controller is worth only about the same a R console.

I have the R and it's a nice machine.

Thanks for the advice.  Good to know.  Yeah, I think the PCE plus CD is not ideal for a variety of reasons.  I guess my goal is to get a good system at a decent price, preferably modded but that's not a sticking point.
