I saw this on e-bay and was wondering if this came new this way or if it has been resealed and advertised as new? I thought it only came in a box or as a duo pack in? Anyone have info on this?

"Looks to be factory sealed".
Only Super CD era CD games were shrink wrapped. This could possibly be an opened copy that was lying around that TTi inherited and then decided to shrink wrap to give to some random person to never play until videosportscardsplus decides to sell it on eBay. But because that scenario is so unlikely and unprovable, it should be considered used and possibly containing anything or nothing inside. It has no collector value as a "sealed" game either, since this isn't how this particular game was officially packaged.

Listen to Black_Tiger.
This same seller has a sealed pack-in 3-in-1 Disc...
DUDE, Do not pay for these fake-arse seals.

The 3 in 1 was packed in as it shows in the duo I think?

Both discs were pack-ins...but like B_T said, they did NOT ship from TTi sealed.
Someone, at some point, resealed them.

Alright cool. I was wondering about that. I did think that the 3 in 1 was sealed from the get go. Looking at this one up there it looks like it comes that way.

Since you are going to rip off the wrapper when you play the games, don't pay a premium for something silly.

True indeed. I was only curious really about the y's game. I had not seen that before so I figured that I would ask those who might have seen it before. Thanks for all the info though!

I forgot to mention: look at the second auction you linked to...
Notice something about the games? THEY ARE IN EMPTY CASES. The manuals were separate.
This is how folks who purchased DUO new received the items.
NOW LOOK AT FIRST AUCTION: clearly that is the original version of Ys I & II, for RETAIL on shelves in stores, and would have been sold in a cardboard box with a UPC.
:)

Looking at the shrinkwrap on Ys. It looks like your standard el' cheapo shrinkwrap that any Johnny Turbo Public can do, as opposed to the type that have folds on them. However, I have no recollection what the standard shrinkwrap looked like on NEC/TTI games. Either way, it's a fake, but I thought I'd point out the shrinkwrap.
-
It does look like the shrinkwrap on my sealed Buster Bros, but NEC wrapped their games in celophane and this is not the TTi pack-in version of Ys.

I learned something...well, at least I think I did:
A "Y-fold" is the name of the seam.
(X) But I am 99.99% certain all my boxed cardboard TG-16 games definitely did NOT have a "Y-fold" ...(and wrap material was usually slightly "stretchy")
(Y) However, a sealed jewel case (no outer cardboard box) would have Y-fold. (And the wrap material was stiff cellophane that "rips", it isn't stretchy).

Turbo game cardboard boxes were shrink wrapped.
-
Did the games inside of the cd box have shrink wrap on them as well? I would not think so if the hu card games did not.

I don't believe so.

Cool, Thank you for the info. It amazes me on what people will buy if they think it is something new or something no one else has.

You can buy a new shink wrapping kit today for $50 and if you know what you're doing, create identical wraps to any commercially released shrink wrapped games.

I cant speak for Ys specifically, but all of the CD games I have purchased NIB were both shrink wrapped on the box and jewel case.

Yep, I clearly remember this, all of the manuals were separate when you opened the box. Ninja Spirit didn't even come with a case, just a huey, so that manual was definitely loose. Oh, and I think you got Bonk's Adventure and Revenge manuals along with Gate of Thunder, too iirc. I think since I've had it I've always just put the GoT manual with the 4-in-1 disc jewel case.

Yes, manuals for all those games were included. :)
