Title: Pcengine hook up questions
Post by: Mas on August 13, 2015, 11:37:01 AM
So I have an old crt TV. I have a nes rf switch and I just learned I need to put it on channel 96. I still have nothing. Am I missing something here? Everything is hooked up but no go? Can anyone help me out with this thanks.

Ok so I did the channels and used the nes rf and the master system rf and still nothing. Looks like I'm just going to give the pcengine back and save for a core grafx

I got a loose white PCE for cheaps a while a go. I ended up scoring a Interface Unit for free b/c there was no CD-ROM with it and used it as my "A/V booster". You may have luck looking for one yourself, with CD-ROM's dying, some folks might just try to unload the IU for cheap.

I would recommend looking into a video cable or box to connect to the back. What video in options for you have on the CRT. RF is really shitty. Anything else is better. There are some people here that could help you there or check ebay. I think it is important to know what are the video options on the CRT.

1) Make sure your power supply is fully working as well.  PCE uses the same as a Genesis Model 1.

2) Try turning on the unit, and flip up and down through those channels in the 90s that others mentioned above, sometimes the signal will not work when first powered on, but if you turn it on then move off the channel and back onto it.

3) Try running it through a VCR or on another CRT.

I would seriously just region mod the sucker, or make one of those with the leads off the EXT
