Title: Quick question with video out connections
Post by: Mikeyy00 on August 24, 2015, 05:57:43 AM
Hi all,

I have a Core Grafx II, it's been modded for RGB. If I pick up a briefcase unit, can I have the whole system powered by the interface unit, but still keep my RGB cable out the side of the CoreGrafx? Or do I need to mod the interface unit for RGB as well?

I don't much care if the cover can't go on while the cable is hooked up, but I'm hoping to avoid having to re-mod RGB to the interface unit..

Thanks!

It depends on where the RGB jack is. I have a white PCE with an RGB jack in place of the RF out spot and it works fine with the CD-ROM/IFU set.

I think that's where mine is (still waiting for it to arrive)..

Looks like the round AV jack on the right side was replaced with one of those DINs used for RGB.

If thats the case, then I should be good?

Yeah, I believe that the CoreGrafx was designed around being able to use its own AV out with the IFU. I just don't have one in front of me and I've only ever used the IFU's output with CoreGrafx systems.
