Hi guys, need a little help please.
I'm in the uk, I've got a Turbografx and I want to play SF2 but as everyone is aware it's mega poo with the standard two button pad.
My question is; will an Avenue 6 or Hori whateveritscalled work?
I'm sure I read somewhere they don't. Is there a way of jerry rigging it so I can use one?
What do you TG owners do/use?
Sorry if it's a noob Q, but if you don't ask and all that. :D
Any help will be greatly received.
Ta.

No the sockets are different. You could do the reverse of this

Or get a pce is better option

Like fruit said, it's a different sized port. You'll either need a converter cable or swap cables from a spare TG-16 pad.

Yeah, a while back I wanted what the OP is looking for, but the seller shipped one out that did the opposite (as per your link).

You will also need to region mod your TG-16 as well. SFII was only released in Japan as a PC Engine title

A reverse Duo tap will also work.

PAL TurboGrafx systems run games at various speeds slower than intended. You're probably better off just buying a cheap PC Engine system.

Totally. No adapters needed. The PAL Turbografx is a dust collector.

Thanks
In the UK you can easily pick up a different 60hz capable CRT for practically for free, or at most £5-£10.

Yea I got one at Asda about 15 years ago new 24 inch that does 60hz. Also s video & rgb. Its actually quite nice. They're everywhere on ebay . You could probably pick up a nice trinitron for next to nothing

I wouldn't trash your PAL system just so you can buy PC Engine to play Street Fighter. That is just insane. Don't listen to these fanboys, get the converter mentioned above and call it a day. Enjoy!

Yeah, instead enjoy your games at a slower speed. /sarcasm
How is playing the games at the intended speed fanboyism???

As others said, many, if not all PAL TVs from the last two or three decades have no issue with displaying 60 Hz. Just make sure you feed them with RGB signals via SCART, so you can bypass any NTSC color encoding. This is necessary with consoles imported from NTSC regions as well as the PAL PlayStation 2. Many other PAL consoles from the last 15 years can output PAL-60 without the color encoding issues.

Dig in and go for a Duo-RX. Not only will you get the 6 button pad, but you also be the coolest guy on your block. You will also be able to play all games. Obey.

Thanks for the help and guidance guys.
I've actually got a Sony Trinitron so it could well do 60hz.
Other option is pick up an SF2 arcade pcb and sling it in my cab, don't fancy hacking the cp to fit three extra buttons tho.
Just to clarify, I've actually already got a copy of SF2 on my Everdrive and tbh I grew up playing SF2 on a PAL SNES so I'm probably used to the slowness.

Hah! Problem solved then :) Buy the game for the shelf, use the TED to play it, and just buy a 6button pad with an adapter cable.
