Title: Duo-R/RX caps?
Post by: MNKyDeth on October 26, 2015, 02:08:25 AM
I am curious about the Duo-R or RX as those two consoles don't seem to have a full cap list here in the forums.

Do they not need cap replacements like the US/JP Duo's?

If the audio is low or cd drive doesn't read then is it just some pot adjustments or new laser?

What steve said.

If the audio is low, or there is no power to the laser, it is most likely a cap issue. If the laser is not reading, it could be just an adjustment, or possibly the HOP-M3 has been used so much that it needs to be replaced.

console5 has cap kit and page with details:
http://console5.com/wiki/PC_Engine_Duo-R
http://console5.com/wiki/PC_Engine_Duo-RX

But like other said, the white Duo generally won't need recapping yet.

I been ordering stuff from Console5... completely forgot they have the cap lists. They are also I think under a 45min drive from where I live. I am just to lazy to drive, rather pay shipping fees.

Thanks for all the info everyone.

45 min drive is rather long if you didn't have any good reason to be in the general area.  You'd probably blow $10 in gas plus the time, it is probably cheaper to pay USPS to have it delivered to you.
