So I finally got in the little plastic clips that hold the neon tubes in place and decided to take some pictures of this Turbo 16 sign since I cant seem to find much info about it anywhere. Someone local told me these were used in the Montgomery Wards Department Stores back in the day but not sure. Enjoy and any info would be appreciated(http://i1153.photobucket.com/albums/p516/Supraguy88t/08BFD069-A63D-4995-9AC1-450A6B773663_zpsbbebruam.jpg) (http://s1153.photobucket.com/user/Supraguy88t/media/08BFD069-A63D-4995-9AC1-450A6B773663_zpsbbebruam.jpg.html)(http://i1153.photobucket.com/albums/p516/Supraguy88t/E5E8908B-A7AE-4291-A51E-A1B5C52FA238_zpstzhduf4x.jpg) (http://s1153.photobucket.com/user/Supraguy88t/media/E5E8908B-A7AE-4291-A51E-A1B5C52FA238_zpstzhduf4x.jpg.html)(http://i1153.photobucket.com/albums/p516/Supraguy88t/73ECDA36-AB4D-4BF0-BE9B-5ABB37A4FCF3_zpspnqkx10l.jpg) (http://s1153.photobucket.com/user/Supraguy88t/media/73ECDA36-AB4D-4BF0-BE9B-5ABB37A4FCF3_zpspnqkx10l.jpg.html)

That's pretty sexy, even without the 'grafx'.

Sturtevant looks like it's in Wisconsin.
9900 Durand Avenue, Sturtevant, WI
Google Maps shows not much:

Neat, shame it's not orange. I guess there was a bottom piece too?

Dont think so. It has 2 chains to hang it and 3 acrylic pegs to rest it against a glass window.
-
nice! if you were able to get an orange neon sign that said grafx, that would be perfect!
-
I'd guess it was made at a local sign shop for some game store, not official gear distributed by NEC.
-
ya very cool :)
-
very neat piece.

Love it. I would drive my wife crazy with that sign. It just might be the single purchase that caused our divorce. It would be like Kramer and the Kenny Rogers sign!

Yep, that's cool.

Always loved neon light...especially on kitschy mom and pop motels! Another era! :)

Maybe a larger chain, but yeah, I can't see NEC straying so far from their own style sheet.

I was thinking the same my wife would throw me and the light out. All good as long as I have my duo with me lol.

Kenny Rogers as in? "You've got to know when to hold 'em
Know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away
And know when to run...."
or Kenny Rogers the baseball player?
-
Kenny Rogers as in purveyor of fried chicken.

I agree.
Still, I think it is great, even if it is "missing" the "Grafx" and not an officially sanctioned NEC item.
Totally fun to see it.

Yeah, that is damn cool. I would so get into trouble with that sign for sure. Out on the streets with my sign, getting kicked out of alleys for using it as a night light while sleeping on the street and illegally using electricity that isn't mine to power it. Would still be damn cool though...LOL

It could have been made for a rental place. I seem to remember a few places back there that had one-off displays.
I can ask around in WI and get back with this thread.

I think that is the most likely explanation.
