Post by: csgx1 on November 23, 2015, 03:14:33 PM
Saw this post on Craigs List.  Sad if true.

====================
THIEF SCAM Magical Chase Turbografx 16 - $1 (Sacramento)

I'm writing this to warn everyone of a very low life individual. He will try to sell you rare games like Magical Chase for Turbografx 16 for low prices. He will then give you the addresses below or try and meet you in a public space like Safeway (So, you'd have no way to test game your getting and be stuck with broken merchandise). If you ask to test the game, he will scout you out in his apartment complex parking lot to see if you're alone and try to rob you if you're indeed ALONE. He is a black individual with a suspected Mexican accomplice and has many stolen goods and is desperate for money. DO NOT engage with this individual as from my research he is already a felon and could be in a gang that will rob you blind. I'm already compiling evidence to send to the local police department to try a thwart this low life from robbing or screwing over anyone else. ALL information I have on this individual is listed below. Thank you. Photo's of item he used to lure me to site are included.

Suspect number he uses:
Phone number 1-510-715-8737

He will also tell you that he lives in the area code (95660) or North Highlands.

Address incident occurred at:
4215 Palm Ave, Sacramento, CA 95842. Apartment 34 / 32 / 43 / or 42. E-mail is pj9vt-5295480137 at sale.craigslist.org. Goes by NELSON FAMILY.

That's what you get for being greedy, Magical Chase for $1 yeah right!

Jokes aside I hope not many people got scammed by these lowlifes. I joke but you have to be triple extra careful in a too good to be true situation like that.

Damn that is nuts.  I always meet people in public places when buying/selling on Craigslist.

Colorado has concealed carry too which makes it a bit easier to stay armed if you're concerned, but it doesn't always help.

Scary stuff.  Gotta be careful in your Craigslist endeavors especially in high price items.  Feel out the seller and see if they know what they are talking about.

Lol, there is open carry too (which requires no permit), but I think concealed carry in an area (especially near me) makes people at least double-think doing anything premeditated.

If anyone is buying something like MC or an expensive item, possibly do the transaction at the local Police station.  They supposedly welcome that kind of activity.  Just suggesting a Police station should weed out most people with bad intentions. Unfortunately, nothing prevents a thief from following you after the transaction and robbing you of the goods or cash you just received.

Nebraska is an open carry state.
I can carry at all times, as long as it's in plain sight.

You know what is scary?

I mean, truly frightening?

(1) Thinking that a gun helps.

(2) See #1

Uh oh, I may have hurt your feelings! Good thing you have a gun, your safety blanket, so you feel more confident and safer on this planet.

Sadly, the absurdity and irony of "gun = safety" is lost on most folks.

Oh! I'm sorry, I hurt your feelings again.

Don't forget to go to bed with your teddy bear. And don't leave the house without your teddy bear. You'll feel safer.

I'll stop now.

:)

I know. I couldn't resist.

Obviously, this is why we shouldn't talk about politics and stuff.

I still love you, Bernie—gun and all. :)

And my "New Year's Resolution" is to only argue about video game stuff here at pcefx...hopefully I'll be able to stick to this goal.

Agreed, it kills friendships on any forum. Sometimes I think, it's better not to know too much about the people I'm discussing with.

Its not even like that.  Its actually quite simple really.  Lets take owning a firearm for example.  I respect a persons right to not own one, so one should respect another's to own one if they choose.  Do I feel we should have better rules in place for obtaining a firearm?  Most certainly.

Well, that's if we both agree that citizens should be allowed to own guns at all...or if they should be allowed to own certain types of guns (hunting rifles).

Personally, a society that endorses "right to carry" and/or "concealed" weapons is fundamentally flawed.

Guns should be for police/military/hunting, period.

Don't even get me started on hunting (how would I prevent it from becoming a huge loophole? I don't know). I support hunting as a means to control overpopulation of certain animals, so I see a practical aspect to it, especially if folks eat the spoils...

BASIC PHILOSOPHY: I don't trust professionals with weapons, so I certainly don't trust people who lack professional training.

Then there is the simple fact that find are too efficient at killing.

If folks want to kill each other, they should have to work at it. Get dirty, tired and messy if you are going to kill someone.

Its kind of funny.  Most people know know me know that I'm pretty left wing, liberal, blah blah blah.  I remind them its typically economic reasons why I lean left.  Anyways, its funny because I actually really like guns.  My buddy got me a nice pistol for Christmas this year and I'm totally stoked!  So what's more dangerous?  No gun, a man with a gun, a liberal with a gun!? :D

Nah, we should talk more politics. Our grandparents and older generations talked politics all the time.  I don't know why that stopped. Maybe it's the fearful corporate mentality and personal secrecy that permeates our workplaces or maybe millennials are just too sensitive.

Arguing with someone and caring about them shouldn't be mutually exclusive. Or maybe I just have too many relatives from New Jersey.

You shouldn't talk politics all the time everwhere with everyone. Just because people don't spend time on a PC Engine forum talking about American politics, it doesn't mean that they never discuss it at all.

Just the same, if a member is a diaper fetish brony/furry, they don't need to go on about it here. I'm sure that there are many forums for that, otherwise no one would think to do it.

But if you really want to talk politics here, then you should start a dedicated thread in Fighting Street. No point in derailing other threads.
