Title: Keith Courage Waiting List
Post by: Otaking on December 04, 2015, 11:45:33 AM
Hey Dudes and Dudettes,

I have been looking for KC for a long time.  It will complete me.  I get some emails/responses on craigslist, mostly about JO crystals or negative about how I am going to resell it or some other bullshit.  I don't even list $50 or $100 or what the other jokers do.  I am very interested in getting a copy.

So, I propose, in order to keep KC in the "family" we have a waiting list.  I would also like to add my name to the top of the list :).  Or have some other system of order where I'm first above people wanting the game, and people selling / trading the game can get together and sell it to me first.

One day I personally can see myself selling my entire gaming lot, or KC if I had it, but I guess I don't have much going on... one day soon when I lose the desire to collect or I have to sell for money problems, it will be flipped.

But, it would be great, as we can totally bypass fleabay so you can give me a great deal, and make sure people do not gouge the game so I can get a great deal.  It would be more difficult to track the price, and have outrageous prices for the game sold, if we keep it to ourselves.  I do not know how many get traded or sold on this forum.

Let me know if anyone else is down! and remember I'm top of the list because it was my idea.

Thanks!

Keith Courage actually completed me back in 1992. Brought home that sweet orange box with the grinning dude on the front and was instantly transported to the Alpha Zone. I never looked back.

I definitely want to keep KC in the family as well. I'm in.

I wish there was a sequel in the Beta Zone.

KC is not rare complete and doesn't have that high of a price tag. You can pick up one from eBay, complete, for usually around $13 to $18.

Here is one that even includes the rare comic for only $12.

Of course if you want Magical Case then this is the best I can do, $99,999.99

What are you talking about? check your facts!
KC was one of the last released US Hucards and pressed in very limited numbers, therefore has become extremly uncommon, demanding a premium price if it ever shows up on ebay or trade forums.
A few years after It was released on the TG-16 it was released in Japan when they finally launched the PC Engine, it was the pack in PCE game and they renamed it Wataru (translated as "Water" from Japanese), then after that they made an anime of the game which had a cameo with Johnny Turbo.

Actually it is a very rare game on the Genesis. I am still waiting for my copy as well. So...

I will partake in this thread and hopefully wait in line for my Genesis copy of KC. Thank you for letting me on the list, raffle or whatever.

Can't be at all that rare.  Mine was MISB that I got for playing on my Sega Master System. Think I got it for a dollar at a now defunct toy store.

My only gripe is that Sega never included rapid fire option on the controller and it's missing easy to access pause button, I'd need to get off my ass to pause KC.

I'm sure one day you will find Keith Courage in a video games stores. I know all you find if any TG16 games is Magical Chase but someday a copy of Keith Courage will be yours.

Pre Nes, wasn't my time. But you know how many games from that time had badass box art that the games themselves paled in comparison

For me, Keith courage was one of those games. One of my friends had a TG16 and maybe only Keith Courage. I still only had a Nintendo and believed/expected both the Genesis and TG16 to be home arcade wonders.

He was very adamant about not playing the game saying it was bad. But looking at the cover art, the game looked so cool and it was on this state of the art chip card thing. One night I was staying over and I finally convinced him.

It was not what I expected.

I also played this for the first time while I was there.

Thanks to some other waiting lists I've joined and one I actually started, I own multiple copies of KC (It is my favorite you know). What should I do? Does Tool need all my copies, or should I be alright with keeping one to play and the one I keep taped to my thigh?

Just a quick update, Tool has been overwhelmed by PMs of people trying to send him their copies of KC. But sorry he's far too busy to respond as he is giving his opinion on valuations on video games and advising to get items VGA graded.
