Title: Arcade card issues
Post by: 780racer on December 04, 2015, 05:42:15 PM
Is the arcade card suppose to get like stupid hot after a few minutes of playing sapphire which has tons of graphical errors?

Having issues since getting my duo back from Thesteve.

Maybe a little warm, sure, but not crazy hot. What kind of graphical errors?

Yeah, sounds like wrong amounts of electrical current is going someplace it shouldn't.

Welp. I thought I had a working arcade card. Seems I don't.

I assume when a hue card dies... Its game over for it.

Ill just have to go look for another arcade card for myself.

Sorry to hear.  It's a minor financial hit $60 at most just eat it and move on.

Look on the bright side, now you can use your old Arcade Card as a super cool key-chain fob.

I had a Duo that would not play well with the ACD. It had gone through a lot of repairs and mods over time, so I coughed it up to that. I tested the card on another Duo and it was fine, do not give up hope on the card.

When I would play Sapphire, I would be missing sprites, I'd only have large blank squares. Most of the backgrounds where missing also. I do not recall the card getting hot tho. At least you have 95% of the obey library! I ended up finding a cheap replacement Duo that works with the ACD and kept the troubled one as a spare for cons.
