Title: Voltage regulator 2405 replacment
Post by: choijimmy on December 19, 2015, 04:45:06 PM
Hi,

In mega cd version 1, the voltage regulator is NEC 2405. Can it be replaced by common 7805?
By reading the spec, they are very close ( eg, 1A, output 5v,etc.. )

Anyone has idea?

Thanks!

if the heatsink is floating or grounded yes, as the only differences are the 7805 is more rugged and the 2405 has the tab insulated
