Sure did! Turbosanta hahaha.

Plus, R-Type was probably the most expensive game on store shelves, at $69.99 (Toys 'R Us) even in 1991 and I think maybe even later.

Great story I remember paying about 60 something for bloody wolf and my dad was shocked.  I assured him these games were special lol.

Never owned R-Type since I was so bad at it at the arcade.

I never actually saw an R-Type arcade machine even though I went looking for arcade games anywhere I could find them.  I owned the Master System version since mid '89 and soon after that I became aware how much better the PCE/TG-16 version was. After I got my free copy of R-Type for the Turbo, I asked my dad if he could see the difference between the two and he said yes it's a big difference, even though he wasn't into games at all.

Can't remember much but I think it was just another day at my family's with homemade pizza and various board games.

Dungeon Explorer was one of the first games I got for my Turbo. I managed to get a few mail in free games and I think they were Victory Run and The Legendary Axe.

I got mine for Chirstmas and was turbo-bummed it wasn't a nintendo. Little did I know that over the years, I'd enjoy it way more than the nes/snes/genesis.

I remember my 1993 Turbo Christmas very well. My wife surprised me with a Turbo Express. Yes I still have the receipt!
