Post by: KnightWarrior on January 20, 2016, 08:00:00 PM
How much do they go for now loose?

I played Street Fighter 2 CE an hour ago, Had to stop in Mid Game..I never do that..The Avenue 6 Controller felt weird to me

I haven't play my TurboGrafx-16 since I moved like in April 2014, Maybe I need to get used to it again

Shouldn't have to pay more than $40.

$30 to $50 from what I've been seeing.  Get one before they reach "Teh RAREz" status.

I think I paid $20~30 exclusive shipping for a boxed one on ebay. $40 sounds  bit too much to me (unless shipping is included).

I paid USD$29+ship, total under $40 for a boxed one in like-new condition. I have the standard 2-button turbo pad (gray and orange), an Avenue Pad 3, and a fighting commander PC and the Hori is my favorite of those 3.

I was worried that it was a lot of money to spend on a pretty basic controller for essentially 1 game, but I end up using it for every game, except for the handful of games that use start/select in-game as action buttons; in those cases I use the avenue pad 3...

I also have the Hori fighting stick which I prefer to any of the pads for fighting games or shooters. I prefer pads for platformers and strategy/RPG games. And my wife prefers I never use the fighting stick because it is so noisy.

Seems that most prefer the Hori Pad... I suppose I must be the oddball then lol.  I have both the Hori and the Avenue Pad 6 and I much prefer the Avenue pad myself. I think it feels nice in the hand and I like how large and unique looking it is.  I was thinking of selling my Hori cus I don't suspect i'll ever use it.

I just ordered the Hori Fighting Commander V because I need a decent PC and MAME controller. I used PlaySega! USB Saturn pads for a little while, and while they felt nice, the cheap plastic frequently led to breaks.

Hori typically has a good reputation when it comes to build quality, much like Asciiware did back in the day.

On the upside, it seems like all the Horis are pretty consistent in terms of price ($50 for the new V's, $30-40 for the 4's)

Or play lottery with local Goodwill and hope one turns up cheap.  :D

TBH I haven't found any TG-16 games locally for less than eBay price in about 15 years.
