SOLD
I discovered I had an extra of these and am just looking to get rid of it. This is a drama CD, and there is a comic in the booklet and then it's like a story being acted out on the CD. I was thinking like $10 plus shipping, it's in great shape by the way. Shoot me a PM if interested or wanting to make an offer.

What is this exactly? A soundtrack from the game?
-
If it's a soundtrack and koop doesn't want it, I may take it :)
-
Oh naw I don't want it, I was just curious what it was.

You posted first so yeah, dibs and all, but I'd like this in case jtucci doesn't.

Updated the first post. This is a drama CD, not really a soundtrack. There is a comic in the booklet and then it's like a story being acted out on the CD and everything. Super niche but a neat collectible, plus it's got Mail ;)

Dang. It's incredible how totally devalued audio CDs have become. 20 years ago this would be worth $20-30, now these guys literally don't want it at any price.

I mean, perhaps if I was a huge fan of Popful Mail I'd want it... But I'm not, I'm sure someone else would be much happier to own it than me. Unless you mean just in general.

Well, it's surprising that this thing has sat here for days with no interest from a comunity that in general has a huge boner for Falcom and sometimes spends hundreds of dollars on bootlegs, outer boxes, obi, demo discs, and other bullshit. This is %100 legit* early 90s fan ephemera right here, man, WTF?
But mostly I'm sorta shocked than audio CDs have become so valueless. Considering it's, all around, the best audio format of all time** and still the highest quality format for most releases. It's not like you'll ever be able to buy this in another format. I have hundreds of LPs, some as new as literally yesterday, but I can't play the f*ckers in my car. CD has kinda been the best thing going for 30-some years now.
* it does not appear to be a Taiwan bootleg from what I can see.
** because you can play it in a PCE, and a million other things, as well as convert it to any other format with zero degradation.

I feel the same way, as I tossed out piles and piles of CD inserts for the LPs I gutted to house the Bernie Repros I got. It feels like some day these will become rare and collectardable because of so many people like me liberally throwing them out.
That being said, I own a few game soundtrack CDs and would buy more if I stumbled across them for games I am really into - popful mail is not that game for me.
-
I'll buy it xelement if you didn't already sell it. Just saw this thread.
-
I got a bit of interest via PMs! If they fall through NightWolve I will hit you up :)
-
It's definitely cool, but someone else could probably get more enjoyment out of it than me. And I hope they do!

I love CDs and buy physical copies of albums from bands I like. I'll pirate the tracks first, skim through them and then if it's worth listening to properly, I buy the CD.
I have some Tengai Makyou drama CDs, but a Popful Mail drama just isn't appealing to me. I'm more of an Ys fan and appreciate much of the content of Falcom games. I rarely love everything about every game of theirs I've played.
I'm not crazy about most Ys music remixes either. The only one that kind of got it and built off of the PCE soundtrack is the anime. I'd rather listen to the chiptunes of various Ys games than most of the post Dawn of Ys soundtracks.
I have the Cosmic Fantasy anime laserdisc. A short Popful Mail anime would be neat. But I'm not interested in audio framas of either unless a good amount of artwork is in the package and it isn't too pricey.

Man I tell you, there was a VHS of the Popful Mail music video/anime short up on YJA a month or so ago and I was trying for it real hard but got outbid. I don't think it was to another proxy, but I'd have loved to have snagged it so I could copy/upscale the thing and get a nice version out there.
