Someone is making a 3DNes emulator.

Personally, I hate 2.5D graphics and don't see a point.
-
I think it's kinda neat personally. I doubt I'll ever use it, but it's interesting none the less.
-
Might check that out.

It's interesting. It seems its taking a combination of foreground vs background info, and info on like collision boxes. It seems stuff that you can pass through from one direction but are stopped by from another direction create some really weird effects. Mega Man seems to work best with it.
-
It works well with the simple, undetailed scenery of Super Mario Bros and Mega Man, but it looks like shit in most everything else. It's neato as something play around with for a few minutes, I guess, but I couldn't see myself ever actually playing through games with it.

I think it makes Megaman look stop-motiony which ks pretty cool. All in all it is certainly a novelty, but I'm always amazed by some people's creativity.

This is pretty nifty. I of course prefer the original games but this is a really cool idea.

I think this is also neat but very ugly.
