Greetings All! I'm new to the forum, as well as PCE gaming. I own an rgb modded PCE and just purchased a cd-rom2 that comes with an IFU, a system card, and a game. My question is can I play cd based games in rgb without having to mod the IFU?

Yes. You just need to get sound from the IFU and video from the pc engine.

Awesome! Thank you so much!!! Will I need to buy a scart cable that has audio split off to connect to the IFU?

Possibly depending on how your system is set up.

If you plan on hooking your game system up to a stereo then you can just run the audio RCA jacks from the docking station to your stereo. Thus not needing to have audio go through the scart cable.

Welcome aboard!

Thanks everyone! Necro, thanks for the welcome! So, my setup is female scart cable to bnc breakouts that connect to my sony PVM. The rgb din on my pc engine is located on the right side of the console (I'm hoping the IFU doesn't cover it up when I connect it). Theoretically I should be able to connect the video via scart and run an rca cable with sound from the IFU to the PVM, yes? Sorry to keep needing clarification. Just want to be prepared for when the CD rom and the IFU arrive ;)
Thanks for all your help and patience! This forum is really amazing!

If it's a mini din in the original location of the RF port, then it will be fine. Or a normal din on a core grafx. If you made a custom hole closer to the back of the console then it might cover it up.
That setup you described will work if the din is in the original location of the hole.

AWESOME! Yes, din is located I the original spot!
Thanks again for all the wonderful help!!!
Cheers!
