Just wondering if any of you have these, and if you still play 'em
-
i wish i had a pce gt
-
Own a Turbo Express and love it.
-
Of course not.
-
Don't own one. I have a NintendoDS - mainly because it plays games you can't play on another system. I'd rather play my turbo games on the big screen:)
-
I had three until today. I voted for GT, since my main TurboExpress is region modded. I also just bought, fixed, region modded and sold another Express to my coworker. I also have another GT which with bad audio circuit caps which i use to "experiment" on. Im going to put a larger screen in it once i finish figuring out the composite out circuit.
-
I've had a TurboExpress & TurboVision for years, but almost never use them. I still love 'em though.
-
I have PC Engine GT, which by the way plays sound quieter and quieter every time I play it, plus the screen doesn't look so hot any more, or am I just spoiled by more recent technology? ;)
I also have a Duo Monitor, plus batteries for the monitor and batteries for a PCE Duo, so technically I could make my Duo portable, but that would be way too much work don't you think?
-
I'll still consider it a portable! Afterall, that's what the monitor was designed for :D .
-
No portable TGs or PCEs of any kind...just a GBA. :P Although...does having emulators on my laptop count?
-
in retrospect, I probably should have considered portable emulation... oh well, too late now
-
I had a Turbo Express, but I realized that I never used the thing and so I sold it to some other guy that almost certainly never uses the thing either.
Amazing for its time, but really its a huge battery sucking vampire with a tiny screen.
I have a DS, an NGP, a GBA SP, and a Swan Crystal, and all of them are better for my portable gaming needs.
-
If you get yourself some 2500mah+ nimh batteries, you can get some decent battery life out of the GT or Express. I usually get about 2.5 hours or more. Also, an LED mod for the screen to replace the power sucking bulb will tripple battery life ive been told.
I use mine all the time, but usually at home. I take it to work once in a while also.
-
The person who made the poll didn't allow for TurboExpress + PCE GT. I own both.
I still play them because:
1) I got into HuCards again
2) They are more convenient than console + television (the same reason I prefer laptop over desktop when it comes to computers).
Of course, once I get back into NES/Famicom (I work in cycles), the TE and GT will go back into storage.
-
Laptops, boo.
-
-LT (but lose one only)
-GT
And yes, their still in use^^
here we have a sapphire running on the LT:

other portables are:
-DS-lite
-PSP
-Wonder swan color crystal
-GB
-GBA
-GBA SP
-GBA Micro (famicom ed)
-about 20 G&W
:)
-
Yeah the LT is totally portable. Especially with the CD unit and an external controller attached to it.
-
Tatsujin, I envy you and I am extremely jealous of those fine jewels of gaming you own! :D I really want a LT.

It doesn't have to be connected to the CD unit or use an external controller port, however it still isn't necessarily "portable" because you need to use an AC adapter for it. However there is some rare battery pack designed for it.

I will get one of those. And a CD unit. And an extra controller. And a battery pack.
Then I'll play Dungeon Explorer 2 on the bus. Two player - with myself. Controller in one hand, LT in the other. Will be a blast.

That's not decent, its horrific. My Neo Geo Pocket gets over 50 hours from only two AAs, and my Swan Crystal gets about 40 on one AA.
I'm not saying that the GT was bad for its day (although the OG GB got over 10 hours I think) I'm just saying that for me, in this crazy modern world, I'd rather have a system that can actually last.
-
Will be a blast.
definitely it will be :D
but, even it is not "hand-carry"-portable, you can bring it easy to every place you almost can imagine (work, frens..even on a trip).
and with a special made "10Ah-acid-lead-accu-powerbank" (to the left side)
you easily be able to play about 5~10 hours independently with the whole set up!

:D
-
Very cool picture. Looks highly playable, actually. I want everything on there. :)
-
Damn it, Tastujin; you're not helping me control my bank account money  . I would totally love to have that set up!
-
I'm weeping at the sheer beuaty of that LT setup.
But I must say, I belive you have more money than sense.
As for 2500+ mAh rechargables, that's enough to get through most commutes, both ways...
-
no way bros. i'm also poor as hell (reffering to western style of poorness) :(
but in the past i had some very lucky trade-deals to get a lose LT. at the moment i never would be able to spend $800+ for an boxed system just for fun, even i like to own a boxed one oder a DUO-monitor or a or or.. :(
mostly i invest my small "pocket money" in soft rather than hardware.
-
Us Turbo fans are like cokeheads; we may be poor, but we spend all the money we can get on Turbo stuff.

:) Too true.

Wow Tatsujin that some LT setup, reminds me alot of those jamma test rigs. You know the ones with the small crt screens.
I still got my Turbo Express, but I just don't have the time these days to play it.
