Damn sad day...plus who will serve me pancakes?
-
Too bad. His music wasn't really to my tastes, but the dude could play a guitar like a boss.
-
Musicians are dropping like flies!
-
Rough year for music so far. Was never a huge Prince fan but still terrible news regardless. 57 is pretty damn young.
-
I love his music especially the Sign of the times and music movie. So sad everyone seems to be getting ill

Love the first bunch of albums. Not everything was groundbreaking, but it was nourishing.
:)

Chyna died too. Don't forget Chyna. Chyna.
Prince was dope.

Ah, that's too bad. I prefer Prince over Micheal Jackson, but that might have something to do with my mother playing Prince audio cassette tapes all day long in the late 80s, be it at home or in the car. And the Sign o the times video cassette was the only one we had for some months on the VCR, so when I was bored, I watched it over and over.
Due to all this, Prince songs are fused into my brain eternally.

Yep, and who knew, she went on to star in several adult films post-WWE. ;)

Agreed. RIP to a true music legend.

I would die 4 U, Raspberry Beret, Private Joy, and Baby I'm a Star were a few of my favorites and I have them on permanent rotation whenever I listen to music in the car. 57 is far too young to go!

Both Prince and MJ remind me of roller skating in the early 80's. Purple Rain and Thriller were both huge at the same time, and the rink played the hell out of it.

Heh, they look like each other, but you're thinking of Lucy Lawless.

I always liked Prince. I remember when MTV2 played a loop of 1999 for 24 hours straight on New Years Eve and I for some reason watched the video about 30 times. RIP

Google chose to honor him with a Purple Rain animation GIF.

Prince kicked ass.
I must hook up my turntable to play all the singles I have.
I never got rid of any of his records.
Because Prince kicks ass.
No, I would never consider Gospel period to be authentic Prince.
*GOSPEL* PRINCE MAY HAVE DIED.
BUT
*PRINCE*
LIVES

"Prince was treated for a drug overdose 6 days before his death ... multiple sources tell TMZ."

Well, that might answer why at 57... :/

Damn. Sad news.

I know the internet is on fire and everyone on earth is commenting on this, so i'll weigh in.
I have something like 12 albums. In 2004, he released Musicology in the newspaper of all things back in MN and WI. I got a paper with my morning coffee and the album dropped into my lap. I went back the the newstand, and bought another paper, and got a second copy. It was unreal. Googling later I found out the newspaper stunt had been a publicity attempt to reach out to fans in the Midwest. Man, did it work! I binged on his records for about a year after that.
The only time I actually saw him was in the same year at a club in MN, Maybe the First Avenue/Seventh St. Retreat, and he just randomly walked onstage during someone else's set (I can't remember the band's name) and shredded a 20-second guitar solo, and walked back off. It was one of the most insane things I've ever seen at a small club show.
RIP Prince

first chyna, now prince? man sucks to hear these people are gone now. may they rest in peace

I wasn't a big fan of his growing up, with exception, for some reason, the Batman soundtrack. I love that soundtrack! Either way, however, I feel like he's one of those artists, that, even if you don't like his music, you can tell he's riddled with talent.

Oh wow. I knew, for some reason, that she had a sex tape or something like that, but didn't know she made it into a regular thing for the monies.
