At first I was confused because it doesn't have an lightsabers. After doing some reading on Wookieepedia, it seems that the focus of the film is not on the Force or Jedi. Seems daft to do a Star Wars movie that doesn't focus on the Force.

I'm sure that I'll watch the movie, but as of now, I'm not exactly excited like I was with The Force Awakens.

I'm undecided about this as of yet from one teaser trailer.
One big thing against it though is I often find the key factor if a movie will be any good is from who's directing it and this guy Gareth Edwards filmography aint so good http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2284484/?ref_=tt_ov_dr#director

I haven't bothered to watch the last Star Wars movie yet, but I like the idea of doing spin off side stories instead of rushing out a movie every year.

Not impressed with this one.  It looks like the same plot from John Carpenter's Escape from New York, only this time Snake Plisken is girl from a Kohls sales ad.  She doesn't look dirty and gritty enough.

I won't be in a rush to see it.

Addenda: This isn't gritty enough. I know about grit, abdominal pain, gritty deposits, fumes, headaches...

Looks like it could be cool, and I can't knock the fact that they're having more females leads that aren't just princesses needing rescuing.

I much rather see a sequel to Space Balls 2 the search for more money before watching this.

Spaceballs is genuinely one of my favourite films of all time. As long as it was done by Mel Brooks I would absolutely love another film.

If Darth Vader shows up and beats the shit out of some rebels, your still going to see it.

Saw the trailer for it this evening while going to watch Capt. America...

I still haven't seen this either..

There are 2 Ewok Adventure movies.  THey are OK if you liked those Ewoks but it's spinoff and doesn't add anything nice to the Sta Wars universe.

Wait—there are two Ewok movies?

I only saw one... Hmmmm...maybe I did see both and just blended them together into one, grande story in my mind?

Hmmm...

Oh the Ewok movies... I remember watching them both on VHS in the late 90s.
I think the first one was watchable. I don't remember the second one that much. The small baby child with the curly hair was so annoying. Lots of stop-motion (or go-motion?) animation in involved for the larger monsters, so if these effects are your thing and you're not ashamed for a b/c-grade slightly trashy experience, you can give the Ewoks a try. Otherwise, forgetting about them is perfectly acceptable in my opinion, too.

First one a group of Ewoks with the girl and older boy goes on a rescue mission to save their parent who were captured by an ugly giant.  Has happy ending including a few dead Ewoks :D

Second one is like a direct continuation, the family were getting ready to leave Endor when they were attacked by nasty people. Only the little girl survived and they go on a mission to get help and finds another human who is also stranded on Endor.  He has a space ship but no power supply and the bad people who killed the girl's family has the power supply stolen from her family's ship.

I see the 2 movies in 1 DVD case, in Walmart $5 dvd bin now and then. Not too hard to get and not expensive as they weren't as popular or desirable as original Star Wars..

Rogue One has had some reshoots

"The move is happening after execs screened the movie and felt it was tonally off with what a 'classic' Star Wars movie should feel like. The goal of the reshoots will be to lighten the mood, bring some levity into the story and restore a sense of fun to the adventure.

This takes place just before A New Hope and leads up to the ten minutes before that classic films begins. You have to match the tone... while [director Gareth] Edwards' first cut was a solid showing, it didn't measure up to the bar set in terms of four-quadrant appeal. Anything less than extraordinary won't do."

Up to about 10 minutes before the classic movie? So we'd see Leia on Tantive IV receiving transmission from rebel to be passed on just before a star destroyer catches up with them and orders them to surrender?

So I think the movie is based on when the Bothans stole the Death Star plans. And I have also heard Darth Vader should be making appearances here and there  But the Bothans were furry, and they have not shown any furry dudes. ](*,)

If the movie is about the theft of the Death Star plans, it seems to go without saying that many Bothans will die in this movie. :P

Overall, I like the idea of the spin off.  I'm looking forward to it.

***EDIT***  Did the Bothans help steal the plans for the first or second Death Star?  My joke might not work after all.

I personally can't wait for this one!   It looks a ton better than Ep7.   Has a cool classic feel to it. :)
