Hi,
I just bought a PC Engine from Japan after failing to find TG16s for decent prices locally in the US. It should be arriving here any day now so I figured I'd look at getting an Everdrive, since I have one for nearly all my other cart based systems. My question is can I play both PCE and TG16 games via the Everdrive without needing to mod the system? Follow up question, how can I best get S-Video or even component out of the system?
Thanks guys!

Yes you can play any region via the TurboEverdrive without modification.
You will have to get it modded to get S-video or Component out.

You can play both regions using a Turbo Everdrive. But adding a region mod to the console could affect the TED, so don't bother. The important thing is that if you ever add a CD-ROM, you can use an Arcade Card without needing a convertor or mod.
Several people here do mod service, otherwise mickris sometimes has Tennoke II's for sale with an RGB mod built-in.

I have modded my gen 1 Sega Genesis for S-video in the past and I'm sure the PC Engine board is no more cramped than the Genesis board. It may have been ugly but it's still doable. I was just wondered what the best tutorial and parts kits are out there for the PC Engine.

S-video schematic/tutorial I made a few years ago.

as said before, the everdrive will allow you to play any region games on your system with no problem. just make sure when you get the everdrive that you flip the switch to PCE as if it's on TG16, it will not work.
