The first post-Kojima Metal Gear is a co-op survival game set in an alternate universe.

I liked it better when it was called Silent Hill

As expected the game looks like shit.
Konami are screwed as a game company.
I wish they would sell Hudson off to someone else.
-
Looks uninspired and bland. Believer it was just the first trailer.
-
It could just be a bad trailer. But man, what a bad trailer it is. And in today's world, a trailer means a lot more than it should.
-
Ok take metal gear and cross it with resident evil :P Still i would prefer dlc for MGSV instead such as misson 51,which was left on the cutting room floor.Really though konami ceo needs to be replaced since he is running the company into the ground.
-
I was expecting a Pachinko game troll. Instead this. I need to finish MGS5. Wait I get it this is some kind of phone game.

Metal Gear Evil 2 Revelations: Sons of Silent Hill - Ultimate Nemesis Edition?
Edit: For that post, I should have shot myself down.

Heh-heh, you have a point, so I notice. And looks like angry fans are gonna make another most-voted-down trailer since the new Ghostbusters!
15,756 Up versus 65,029 Down so far...

Sigh. I haven't been a particularly big fan of Kojima's writing since, well, MGS2. I've many times thought that Metal Gear would've been a better series without him. That being said, it appears as though I was wrong.

Metal Gear Solid was always shit anyway, this could be a good change. I don't understand why people like a game that involves watching a cut scene for an hour, sneaking through one room for an hour cause you gotta move soooo slow, and then doing the process all over again.

This. Was at E3 in 98' The whole Konami booth was set up like a military base to promote Metal Gear Solid. I played the demo and never touched the game. Was way to slow and boring for my taste.

Yeah, you could reduce it down to that I guess, but I enjoyed it myself. That's a popular criticism for lots of modern games though, that they're not as interactive with the player, are too much of a movie to a great extent to tell the story. I never minded that actually, as long as the story was good/interesting/weird (all 3 apply to MGS for me, heh). But then, I'm a big movie buff, and it's also why I like RPGs the most, I wanna be told a good/interesting story in between level grinding, traveling, puzzle-solving or whatever.

If Kojima was behind this, would most fans have the opposite reaction?

That's kind of in a way what I was thinking.
If Kojima was still at Konami and he announced a new survival horror game in the Metal Gear universe, I think fans would have gone crazy with excitement.
But the game trailer they showed did look awful, so I think the backlash it's had in this case is justified.

Yeah, a healthy % of the down votes is an expression of anger at kicking Kojima out of Konami.

This iteration of
GSi like to think of it like the game platinum games made. Wasn't by Kojima and had a lot of personality.
So like Rising this game could merit a fun spin off. However, unlike Rising I don't feel they can allow the project to languish and go through different developers prior to release.

At least it isn't pretending to be a stealth game anymore.
