Title: Sinistron CD / Hucard
Post by: Green on November 03, 2016, 10:28:48 AM
Okay so I'm starting to think the CD version of Sinistron is much rarer than the hucard. Is that accurate?
Also, whats the value of Sinistron CD CIB?

CD version goes for $69 if it has the slip cover.

It's one of those games tgat there isn't a fair price for, because of how rarely it's seen on eBay or other places.

For what it's worth, the last CIB copy on eBay sold for around $800. The PC Engine version may also be rare, but goes for about $150 and has infinitely better artwork and superior stage order and enemy placement.

no joke, BT hit it right on.  it's one of the very rare situations where the USA version actually has superior music than the PCE one.  hence the price difference.  people like to know that good music is sitting on the shelf.

The  stage where you have to disguise your ship as a geisha and fly through a high school was my favourite.  Completely eliminated from the NA release.

Rare as it is, it's nowhere near the value of the Violent Soldier Special huey.

Seriously, what the f*ck is wrong with some new guys?  Are they easily confused, misled by youtube know-nothings, or just straight up trolls?

Lol. Sorry I have no idea why I thought I had a CD version all this time.

How much does a CIB go for though? It sold for 800? Yikes.

Comrade, although I like Sinistron/Violent Soldier, I would recommend you play it via emulation before shelling out $$$, because I just choke and die on the asteroid stage 8/10 times (and I am good at shootemups).

I should go to a therapist and find out why I have such a psychological issue with the damn asteroids. Trauma from my youth? Horrible strategy?

Sad, but true.

There's an ebay gouger sitting on an unsold CIB copy for $225 right now, so $800 was a definite screw job.

I'm still waiting to see who Mighty is. Its clearly a regular who knows how to trigger this community. You'd have to know these forums pretty well, to know exactly which topics to bring up to cause havoc. Unfortunately, the trolling is a little too refined.

Agreed.  His brand of trolling is too obvious and ultimately pointless.

Dude, that stage is tough as nails... and it only gets worse from there. Difficulty curve? Who needs that shit! Let's lull players into a false sense of security in the first three stages and then drop the hammer on them in the fourth!

But here's the funny part: I can pass all the other stages with very little problems! Even the last stage!

So I just have a major mental-block with the asteroids.

The tactics for the giant maze (and missiles sneaking up your arse) and etc etc are not a problem for me.

So crazy. :)
