Title: Turbo Express - Replacement for SOT-23 controlling RGB and backlight
Post by: highfroman on April 05, 2017, 03:57:51 AM
so upon taking apart my Turbo Express i accidentally broke one of the SOT-23 Transistors that controlled the green channel (D206)  ](*,)

I ended up taking the one from D208 and it fixed the video color being off but now i lost control of the backlight brightness so I want to find a replacement for this part and i cant find anything on google that names this part.

I'm sure its something basic but I'm more of a follow the instructions kind of guy and I'm lost without them.

anyone know what this part is, and if there are any of these used in another console i could take it from (I have a bunch of broken systems including nes snes n64 gameboy's)

if i cant figure it out i may just composite mod it and add a TFT LCD so the brightness control wont mater.

what do you guys think? sorry in advance if this is in the wrong place!

My best guess is somthing like this:

Fast switching diode.
And also i paniced over losing contrast controll after a recap. Turns out the batteries draind very fast, and with new batteries it worked like a charm.

You should change all of the caps not just the audio ones. The caps in the upper left corner (4.7uf and 100UF)especially because those deal with back light power/brightness. Could just be that they went bad while you had it apart.

this was just a photo i found on google that had a clear picture of the part i needed replaced, the TGE im working on is receiving a full cap kit i purchased from console5. I've seen enough PCB damaged by bad caps that i know the negatives of not replacing them preemptively

This is the one, DAN202KT146, the one first in the list

The ones on ebay or aliexpress are either in wrong package or way to expensive, better to get 10-50 in the right package then 1 for the same price.

SOT-23/SC-59

Thank you so MUCH! Do you know if this can be found inside anything else?

I'll probably end up ordering it anyways 10$ is not a bad price to get this thing back up to 100%
