Title: Legend of Hero Tonma #@*&$%
Post by: Warbucks on April 26, 2017, 03:19:25 AM
Grrrr..

This game is so easy... it's hard!!

At least it seems easy, but I keep dying on stupid things.

Anyone else feel this way?

It's one life no continues right? I think that and the music was what made me prematurely stop my play through of it. I probably kept dying whenever I made progress

I guess its a memorization game - getting killed over and over and just getting a little farther each time, until you start forgetting what you were supposed to do at earlier parts of the level and then getting killed earlier and earlier each time, until you make a breakthrough and manage to get a little farther, so you get excited that "yeah, I am going to make it", and then you forget what you are supposed to do next and your dead, so you reach for the power switch and play some Bonk...

That sentence pretty much sums up what happens whenever I play anything

This is not a hard game...I think you feel frustrated because you forgot to activate a more *heroic* perspective.

You're welcome.

Victory is around the corner.

I'm not the greatest gamer, but this game didn't feel hard to me.  Bonk is more difficult in my opinion.

Are you saying you didn't like the music?  If so, I don't think I've ever heard anyone say that, but, then again, it uses one of my personal favorite sound engines.  I love Hero Tonma, Ninja Spirit, & Mr. Heli's soundtracks, I can't recall if there's any other Irem games that use that engine?

As for the game itself, I've beaten it, & I stink at game(with exception to Exile: WP, no idea how I beat that one BITD).  It's possible however that I played it on an emu & used save states for Tonma, I don't quite recall.

I'm probably wrong then, I thought it used the same music on the title screen throughout the whole level. But it's been so long since I popped it in, this is just what I remembered thinking back

Nah, it has an extensive soundtrack, all of them unique except the boss track plays for every boss.

I play the first 3 or so levels and then get bored and stop playing it...
