Ailes was in the right place at the right time to hasten the transition of "quasi-journalism" --> "vapid entertainment" on a massive scale.

This would have happened, regardless of Ailes (IMHO), but, damn, was he brilliant in executing his vision of "Shite for All."

I can't deny that I am in awe of the power and influence  the institutions/markets he helped shepherd have evolved into.
