I went to burn off Ys IV and I made a coaster. The game boots up, but I can't actually start a new game with it. I believe I need to apply the patch to a specific track or something like that? If someone could explain it to me like I'm 5 years old that would be helpful. ](*,)
Tia to any helpful soul out there.

Wait, the game boots and then...what? You can't start a new game? Are you sure you don't just need to clear your save space or something? I've never patched anything incorrectly and then had it run at all. Usually it's perfect or it's fuct.

I go to new game and then it just doesn't load, the screen stays black.
I got an odd message when I tried to play it in an emulator. That was a few days ago. I'm fairly sure I did something wrong. My ghetto internet has been spotty due to storms but I should finish downloading the prepatched iso Null linked me to tonight (as I type this the connection dips hard again) and I'll give it a go and post back about it.

Yeah I f*cked something up. Lurd only knows what. Got it working with the dl from Null. The system memory did need to be formatted but I got to a screen that told me that. I did that, and the game was then able to start right up.

Because I am le dumb, I always look for pre-patched downloads.

Tonight I am going to try and patch Rondo. We will see how that goes lmao.

So patching Castlevania went very smoothly. Really not sure how I effed up Ys IV.

The same happened to me. Rondo worked first try. I made a whole set of coasters trying to do Ys IV.

I think Ys IV might have something to do with all the variants of the game disc. If I recall, there are 3-4 each with a different TOC. Also, little baby Jesus hates you guys so that could be the problem as well.
I think you are right about the variations. But, I prefer to think if Jesus as a grown man. He had a beard.

Q: WWJD?
A: Motorboat.

I stared at that cover art a bit longer than I probably should have.

Tracks 5, 9, and 12 are all applicable!
Ha! I didn't read those the first go 'round.
