Title: PCE white solid green or yellow screen :/
Post by: gojira1954 on May 26, 2017, 06:19:52 AM
i have a PCE original white type that just displays a solid green or yellow screen :/
I've checked voltages - fuse and regulator is OK
No obvious damage to anything
I've belled the pins out for the hucard slot
No RGB mod or anything has been done, all factory
Any advice of what else to look for would be appreciated please

I have seen caps go bad on those before. Do you have any that are leaking or bubbling?

A solid color usually means a bad chip or traces on the motherboard so hopefully it isn't one of those. However, in some small cases it can be a bad cap(one of the larger hole through ones) or a bad 7805 voltage regulators.

Could be a break in the cable connecting the 2 boards. Try bending it a little and see if the image changes.
