I have one question.

At the start of the game, where you're getting your briefing from the SCAT team guy.
If you leave the game idle long enough, does he still unplug the Sega Genesis cord from the controller?

I don't think so. Then again I hadn't played the original in 20 something years. lol

I don't think that it uses the Sega-CD exclusive footage.

Double Switch > Wirehead > Night Trap

Double Switch > Wirehead > Night Trap

You guys are out of your mind, Double-Switch is clearly the worst one.

Ground Zero Texas > Wirehead > Night Trap > Double Switch = Supreme Warrior

I didn't know this came out, I added it to my wishlist though.  I want a remake of IT CAME FROM THE DESERT next.  Actually  should just rebuy it for Turbo.

Double Switch was only good because HoreyCaim was in it being a washed out gimp.

Watching people hold up their stupid FB pictures of Nighttrap is exactly why I left all the gaming Facebook groups.

It's not gaming.

It's holding up stupid shit you bought that makes you get likes so you feel good about being a dumb piece of shit

lol

Exactly. Rebooting things that died because they sucked and nobody bought them and selling them again to people who forgot they hated them is getting to be a great big digusting thing these days.

This early 90s "studio FMV" is the Crystal Pepsi of gaming.

I'd buy blurays or even 4K discs I can't play yet of some of the animated laserdisc arcade games that haven't been made available.

is the Crystal Pepsi of gaming.

ok to be fair here, I like Crystal Pepsi.   I hate pepsi.   Pepsi has something in it that tastes weird, and I get a headache from it.

Crystal Pepsi doesn't do that.

but, Crystal Pepsi is basically just f*cking Sierra Mist at this point.   They should have just called Sierra Mist Crystal Pepsi instead of trying to be Sprite with a retarded name.

It sounds like Cologne or deodorant.

Well yeah, most shitty B movies have good music.

this game is also making newtard collectors all like OMG NIGHTTRAP LOLZ

shut up.  you weren't there when it came out.   you may have been alive, but you were doing something else.

I spent my hard earned childbirthday money getting this stupid game expecting some mind blowing horror/action/suspense thing because as a kid, seeing real moving humans in a game seemed like the future.

f*ck was I wrong.

I own it, and I will say that, disregarding how anyone feels about the game itself, this is, in my opinion, the best version of the game.

Besides higher video quality, here is a list of things to know about the new version:

- The intro is completely different from all previous versions of the game to be released. It explains the story a little better, but at the cost of not explaining the gameplay nearly enough. They don't even MENTION the whole color code system, which is very unfortunate for those playing this for the first time. On the upside, there is no bullshit with random game overs for watching too long, or it taking up in-game time to watch to penalize first-time players.

- There is a very useful new feature that makes playing the game less of a chore. In the options, you can select whether the room icons are just icons, as in previous versions, or thumbnail previews of what's going on in said room, making it much easier to keep track of what's happening in each room. No more channel surfing to see what's going on!

- There are a few deleted scenes reinstated into the game. You can actually trap Commander Simms near the end, or even allow the preteen boy to get killed by the augers, to name a couple.

- There is now a "checkpoint" at around where the disc change would occur in previous versions. If you make it to "Disc 2" and fail, you can restart from that spot, instead of the very beginning.

- A new Score Attack-style game mode.

- Tons of unlockable bonus features, including: a theater mode where you can re-watch any of the story-related scenes you've seen in previous playthroughs; two documentaries; behind the scenes images; and most interesting of all, a completely playable version of Scene Of The Crime, a prototype game made as a proof of concept to sell the idea of the ControlVision/NEMO (the unreleased console that Night Trap was originally designed for) to Hasbro.

All in all, if you like Night Trap at all, definitely give it a go. If you dislike the game, though, this version isn't likely to change your mind.

Arjak, I don't think anyone is contesting which version is best. It should have, at least, better video since it was made from the original.

The hate comes from the fact that this game wasn't good when it came out. Everyone is flipping out about it because it's retro and "weird". Nobody is going to give a shit about this game in five years. It's no Mario or Sanic or Earthbound. Hell, it's not even Keith Courage. Its significance comes from its place in history as "that game that created the ESRB".

of all the games to remake from the FMV shitheap era, why did we get Night Trap?

So many better options existed.

f*ck, Sewer Shark would have been better.

I got the steam key shortly after I preordered the PC version. The sound cuts out in spots on what is presumably a much better than recommended spec PC. It irritated me enough to where I didn't get too far into it.

There are a number of bugs with the PC version that the dev is still fixing I guess.

how do you have issues with a game that basically just plays f*cking videos while you press buttons.

lol

For the same reason that Neo Geo ports have issues on systems literally millions of times more powerful than a Neo: either nobody like us exists on staff to play test the thing and/or the mostly machine generated code is now millions of times bigger than the original and is un-debugable.

Feldman is still kicking, so that would've been more reasonable before he became the world's most in demand musician.

I like when he puts on the glove in that video and it doesn't fit his manhand because hes not a 14 year old blowing coke anymore.
