Title: Twisted Metal 2 Greatest Hits
Post by: SiberianSpForces on November 01, 2017, 04:37:02 PM
This game will not load beyond the PS logo screen on either PS1's. My main is an August '95 and the secondary is a '96. Throw it in the PS2 and fires up. I'm not entirely sure why, and seeing what some of you guys think.

Your PS1s are dying.

I don't know about that, since any other game I throw in works just fine.

Turn the playstation upsidedown and see what happens.

If it starts working, your PS1s are dying.

My 95 went to the memory card/cd player screen and my Nov 96 went straight to the CD player and loaded the tracks. When I exit the CD player it stays on the mem/cd screen.

Burn a copy of it and play that.

Or try one of the other 1,739,999 copies of the US. version of the game.

I'll see if I can nab an ISO/CUE of the GH version. The 95 will play burned games with the CD player disc swap trick.

If flipping it over doesn't make it load, it means the disc is dumb (but it works on a PS2 so...)

or it means your PS1s about to dieeeeeee

You don’t need an ISO. You literally HAVE THE GAME, just copy it! :)

Yeah, that'd be too easy... #-o... I should have a stack of Taiyo's showing up to make this happen.

Went to copy it with Alcohol 120% and it stopped with a disc read error 67497 L-EC uncorrectable error.

How close have you looked at the disc?  Maybe it's got some rot starting out and has a few pinholes.

That’s what I’m assuming. Probabky not rot, rot is almost totally mythical, but damage of some kind. If his PC can copy it then the burn it makes may be more readable than the original.

His bigger issue is that is Playstation’s are dying, as has been said. Playstation’s are garbage. If the PS1 was of even average reliability I might be willing to admit its one of the greatest ever, but the f*ckers fail at a rate that genuinely borders on the impractical.

The disc has light surface scratches. I have a couple games with worse scratches that play. If I run into another GH copy, I'll man and try it. I also had a bum copy of Black Ops 2 for ps3. Would always freeze loading a particular map. I'll also try it on other PS1 consoles when I get a chance.
