Title: Twilight Princess impressions-previews by the gaming media
Post by: handygrafx on November 04, 2006, 07:53:58 AM
plenty of spoilers, but nothing too deep.
sounds like it will not only be the best Zelda game ever
(that's a given) but the best NINTENDO game ever.

I don't doubt that it has the potential to be the best 3D Zelda, but the series has been going downhill for me since the NES original.

I'm still looking forward to playing a Gamecube version, if it still comes out. Unless they restore the option of gamepad controls to the Wii version.

It looks pretty cool and I will try to get it when I can, but I don't like how the people in the Nintendo Tree House video were saying it's going to be a really long game with lots of side quests. One big thing that turns me off about modern games is how massively they are designed instead of just being simple and linear. It's kind of cool and all, but in the long run I will enjoy a game a lot more if it's short and sweet.

Yeah I often never complete long games because I lose interest before the end. That's why I liked Windwaker, it held my attention until I completed it because it wasn't as big as some people would have liked.

You mean like having to sail for a few minutes(if you even know where you're going in the first place) to reach more gameplay, instead of just walking to the next screen?

I've played through Windwaker twice. All the way until I was supposed to sail around the world again and again until I managed to pull up all the rest of the Triforce pieces out of the water.

I couldn't justify continuing to aimlessly search the world for maps to use to sail to remote locations to pull up chests just to advance to real gameplay when I've got dozens of unfinished PCE games sitting on my shelf.

I am looking forward to playing Twilight Princess, but if you have to sit on your horse while it rides to new areas, I don't think I'll bother finishing it. It's just an artificial game lengthener that counteracts any 'legendary' gameplay in other parts of the game.

Like if you had to play through Night Creatures inbetween each of the Stages in Bonk's Revenge.

I totally digged the style of Wind Waker, but I could just never get into the game after the first dungeon. I don't know what it is, but I lose interest in the game so fast after the first dungeon and it just aggravates me so much. I've tried playing the game like three times but I stop at the same spot.
