@cavein2000

Are you using a keyboard on the Wii? And does the Wii accept dial-up?

I want to buy one but I'm hesitant. I always wait one or two years after a console launch thinking
there might serious flaws or terrible games. But Metal Slug and the Sports game just begs me to hand
over my coffer.

Don't make me post with my Dreamcast broadband browser.  I can at least use a keyboard with that thing.

I made my first forum post on my message boards on the Wii earlier today. The typing actually isn't nearly bad as you think (beats using a d-pad) and it's a pretty nice web browser all together.

no, no keyboard just a wiimote.  The typing is kind of like texting, but words come up as you enter letters, so you can just select a word once you specify enough letters.  Ummm...  you should get one.  I just got rampage as a gift.  Haven't played it yet, but found out that it also includes the original NES version!!

I would've loved to get a Wii for x-mas, but I just didn't have enough money left over after buying presents to all my relatives.
I don't think I'll be getting a Wii anytime soon either. Most likely during summer 2007, hopefully by then Wii might be $50 cheaper.
In the meantime, I went ahead and bought Metal Slug Anthology (just in case it happens to runs of stock).   :-"

Does the Famicom modem really predate the Sega Mark(?) modem?

First post using my Saturn Netlink!

Dude, you know that the Netlink was my only internet experience for years before briefing switching to Dreamcas before getting my first PC. And I never got the mouse or keyboard adaptor until years after I stopped using it.  :P

I even posted regularly on the old Turbografx Network on a daily basis using it.

Haha, you're referring to your Yahoo! Group right? That's jawesome!

Speaking of online support for older consoles, I always thought it would be a stupidly sweet idea to make a wireless HuCard adapter for the Turbo.

Browsing the Internet on low resolution video game consoles. Such a useless feature (maybe not back then, but it is now). :D Although it has to be done, since it is possible. Just for fun. :P

I don't consider it useless at all. Browsing the internet in your living room is a blast, especially with the nice browser on the Wii with the ability to easy move the cursor, zoom in, and scroll. I don't use it so much for reading news or anything like that, but mainly for stuff like YouTube so you can enjoy online videos from your couch.

The Dreamcast keyboard? Ah yes, the Typing of the Dead.

The Typing of the Dead is one of the most jawesome games on the Dreamcast, if only because it can screw you up sometimes because the jokes are actually funny in a cheesy sort of way.

I always screw up on Strength because the paragraphs he throws at you are some of the best dialog ever in a video game.  I wish I can still find the page that had all of them on it, but I seem to have lost the bookmark.
