Sorry, I can't really help you with that, but I came in to comment that the first thing I thought of when I read the title "English text in jap rpg" was Kabuki Den :D .

"Welcome to London, the city of gentlemen. Are you sight seeing?

What? You had better say YES."

"I've just come back from India. I like it there. I just hope, my killer panther is OK!"

"This is the deaprture gate. The arrival gate is over there."

"Home is where you hang your hat. Yet I feel like a stranger in my own land".

I thought that as well, but then i looked through Pcecp.com. A guy has rated Wizardry 3+4, and he says it's in english except for a few error messages. Nice :) Now i only need answer on the first compilation and no.5.

Someone brought this up a while ago.
IIRC, the menus are English and the text is Japanese.

Snerd (snûrd)
n. Slang
(from the latin roots SNES and NERD)

1. A person who believes the SNES was the pinnacle of gaming, usually the same people who think Zelda III was some kind of masterpiece while ragging on part II (the real masterpiece) for trying something different (snerds can't handle change).  Also the same people who are excited about paying Nintendo ridiculous amounts of money for ROMs of shitty games on the Wii.

2. Someone who could be seen during the Gamecube days talking about how "connectivity" was a great idea.  Also known to use the battle cry "QUALITY OVER QUANTITY!" (which originated during the bleak N64 software drought of 1996-2000).  Snerds also LOVE gimmicks, love them.

3. Can be applied to any Nintendo fan who is a totally retarded fatso (basically 90% of them) and says stupid things like "Halo is overrated trash", "graphics don't make the game!" (usually followed by calling someone a "graphics whore"), "Nintendo is about fun!!", "Nintendo cares about the gamer!", or other maximum stupid things along those lines.

Damn.  Joe Redifer generally gets my award for funniest man on the forums, but this is f*cking hilarious.  Thanks Guts.

HA!

BTW, maybe we should have a dialog about the pros and cons of different consoles sometime...particularly the 16-bit ones.  What do you guys think?

It was done in the "honest opinion about the pc-engine" thread. I think everyone came to the conclusion that the Snes could show the most bananas on screen.

The PCE had the best arcade-to-banana conversions.
The SNES edited out all of the bloody bananas and gore.

Ha ha, that's an excellent list. It applies to pretty much everybody on a different forum I visit. Damn, that list got it all covered, even down to the Halo remark! Spot-on!

Hmm, according to Urban Dictionary, it means something else. Perhaps this list should be added to that site?

With the exception of 'snes is the pinnacle of gaming' and the retarded references, that's me spot on. Are we all that much alike? it kinda disturbs me.
