Title: I have Famisized PC Engine music! (sort of...)
Post by: Ninja Spirit on February 08, 2007, 11:06:41 AM
I just got a program called "Famitracker" where I can make 8-bit NES/FC music. I thought it would be cool to do NES versions of various PC Engine tunes.

But what I'm getting at is if there's anything that I can separate the channels of HES files and I can use them for reference.

I think with that program you can just input MIDI files, correct?  If so, then get your PCE MIDIs from www.vgmusic.com (http://www.vgmusic.com/)

Have you checked different HES players to see if they can do this?  If not, then your last chance would be to rename the .HES file as .PCE, and run it as a PCE ROM in Magic Engine.  If the HES file was properly ripped (ie, to work as both HES and PCE) then it'll play in Magic Engine, and you can disable sound channels through that.

I updated the title. I'm learning the controls of Famitracker, and I made a really small file, it can get annoying after awhile. But it's my first thing I did with the tracker.

It's a small excerpt of a track from "Download".

I suggest actually downloading the file so you can loop it.

I had to click through 20 pages for that?  And I don't even know what game it's from!

This is like that thing that makes MIDI sound like the SCC chip.

But this is a tracker, so it's way cooler.

Talking about the second one I made? that's Keith Courage In Alpha Zone/Wataru boss music. The tune in the game itself is really in concert B flat
