Great punk band from the 70s...
Only joking :)
I was on level two of this chestnut and came across the most ridiculous strobe effect I've ever seen in a computer game! I mean, it's almost as if the programmer designed it to maim people. It's really off putting. It lasts as long as it takes for you to kill the alien that causes it, which fortunately isn't that long. Puts me off the whole bloody game. I take it others here have played this game and not had any problems with suddenly falling to the floor with saliva dripping out their mouth? At least, not any more often than normal? :D

That part was quite jarring the first time I saw it but I eliminated that douchebag so fast it was over before I knew what hit me.

And before this gets all tabloid-y, it'd be good to note that only people with a preexisting (though not necessarily previously diagnosed) condition of photosensitive epilepsy get these seizures.
It's not like some flashing death ray that can incapacitate everyone in its path.

Man, it'd be awesome if a boss had a death ray that could harm the actual player. I'm surprised that Astralius didn't have that, as it seemed intent on inflicting permanent damage on those who experienced it.

Rubbish, it's an evil plot! I showed it to my dog and he died two years later! Disprove that!

Playing it again tonight I found the strobe effect just as annoying as yesterday, having to half look away from the screen. It's a huge mistake to have that in the game, absolutely crazy, but at least it's brief.

oh that alien and flashing also appears on lvl 5 too.. I dont find it as bad as some other games though.

Once you know where the fagbot alien is going to appear you can wait for it in the right position for an instant kill and the effect won't last for more than ~1 second. I once failed to kill it instantly and I had to chase it for about 10 seconds with this eye cancer causing blinking screen, teh worst!

That alien didn't bother me one bit, but yeah it's still a funny enemy to bring up. Not to mention it likes being among asteroids.
