I tried to play it today, and it won't work! I even tried brushing the connectors against my clothes and try to clean it or whatever, and even that didn't help! I mean, I can't blow on the card, it's not like it's a NES cartridge or something. HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP!
-
Try using rubbing alcohol and a soft cloth and then just hope it didn't get bent because I got a copy of Dead Moon through the mail it is dead.

Does it have to be a soft cloth? Can't it just be like a Q Tip?
-
A Q Tip should work fine, or you can attempt to clean the contacts with an eraser. Good luck - I'll be praying for Aero Blasters resurrection.
-
q tips work great! Also, look at the seam above the contacts, where the black meets the white. Somtimes tiny amounts of dirt get trapped there and cause bad juju.

Actually you can dampen the card a bit with alcohol on the connector spot and insert it in and out of the system to help clean the system contacts too. Do it a few times, dry the card well, then repeat. Works really well if you have a card you care nothing about so you don't worry about soaking it in alcohol so much. Sometimes its not the card, just the system pins that are dirty.

I've used white spirit dabbed on cotton wool and give those contacts a thorough rub! gotta make sure it's really dried as you'll end up with a white screen.
-
Thanks for your help, people, but I got it working. Thanks again.

I wash all my HuCards in a sink with warm water, dish soap and a dish sponge with a rough side.
They all come out looking brand new, other than any physical wear. :)

Do you actually put them in the water? Because I am still trying to get my copy of Dead Moon working.
-
I use a belt sander for cleaning and a steam roller for "bent" hucards.
:^o

Of course! Except that half the time I use the bathroom sink. :P
The best part about cleaning them this way is that it only takes a few seconds to get even the filthiest HuCard completely clean.

Orange Cleaner does a great job of getting the plastic clean, and I think Novus
http://www.bestplasticcleaner.com/
makes alot of different stuff for getting the shine back. I know for sure they make alot of different polishing chemicals for cd/laserdisc plastics restoration.

When i have probs with hucards, i rub the contacts at and angle either on the seam of my jeans or on the carpet. Works pretty good.
-
Using those methods, wouldn't you run the risk of damage from static electricity?
-
Maybe, but it worked for me.

yup you sure will thats why you make sure it's thoroughly dried before reinserting back into the turbografx/pc engine.
