Are you kididng? That song is one of my favorites from the SH soundtrack. Going in, I knew you'd have to include something from SH and I was really hoping it wouldn't be the standard level theme. Especially since the main theme made an appearance in another recent episode.

I was thinking maybe a boss tune or two, but that ending song was so much better.

You didn't include my favorite song from Afterburner II, though. :)

A great episode, regardless. I like the love Altered Beast got.

I've always liked the music from Altered Beast, it's what elevates a mediocre beat 'em up into something worth playing. I used to play the MD and SMS versions a lot, mostly for the music and mostly for the ending theme in particular which is great.

Isn't that taken from the genesis/megadrive version? >.>

I was surprised you left out some of the wonderboy game bgm's !!

But I loved the show  ^__^

It is a song that plays when you beat the game. If I remember right, it plays as the game introduces all the "characters" you encounter.

That was on a previous show (as a mashup). I don't like to repeat.

Yeah, I know, I remember. That's a GREAT mashup, BTW. It's like they were meant to be played together. But the song is just SO GOOD I thought maybe you'd make an exception.

Actually, I have a question about that tune. There are two variations of that song depending on what console you're playing it on, and one is far superior. The arcarde/SMS/Turbo version of the song is the better version. But for whatever reason, they changed the tune for the Genesis and NES (Tengen) carts. Anyone know why? Both versions start off about the same, but the NES/Genesis song falls apart right when the main riff starts. Actually, I think there is another version of Afterburner on the NES aside from the Tengen cart but I don't know anything about that one. I have the black Tengen version.

Yeah I'm aware of the two variations on the main theme, but have never really tried to get to the bottom of it. Perhaps it could be part of the differences between the original After Burner and After Burner II, but I've really no idea. I'm sure someone here must know about it.
