Hi. I'm looking for a converter for the PC Engine. I already have a TG-16 with a CD-ROM and I've picked up Castlevania: Rondo of Blood not long ago. Problem is I picked up a Super System Card 3.0 for PC Engine by accident. I've tried to Google for a converter but keep coming up with old links that aren't of any use now. Thanks for your time.

Remember that converters are really expensive. They'll cost you at least 100 dollars. I suggest getting a NA system card 3 instead.
-
I've tried looking for the NA SSC 3.0 too. Fruitless effort. I've seen at least 2 pop up on Ebay BUT 1 problem -
The Seller uses PayPal. I no longer have PP due in part to the company not notifying me that they were cutting off my services without my knowledge or permission. I want nothing to do with those bastards again.
So I sort of feel screwed over, that's why I'm looking around for a converter that will enable me to use the PC Engine 3.0 card. At this point, I'm willing to pay around 100, maybe more.

youcan always import or mod.
tzd is out of 3.0 cards?
-
I'll suggest either doing a region mod on your TG-16. It should be cheaper than a converter and more reliable to boot. Search the threads here for more info. on the mod if you're interested.
-
I was going to suggest installing a region mod too. Does anyone still offer that service? I was thinking about starting to do mods for people if there is demand for it.

TZD has been out of those cards for years.
On the other hand, they DID have a converter available until sometime within the last year. It wasn't a Kisado, though.
-
I also say modding is the only way to go. More reliable -- no flaky compatibility problems with some cards; And cleaner -- no stupid things hanging out of your card port; and most likely cheaper (especially if you're a do-it-yourself kinda guy).
-
Thanks for suggesting modding but I've read on a few sites that there's some soldering involved. My hands aren't very steady, hell I write pretty much in chicken scratches, so that's out of the question. I wouldn't want to cause my console to screw up.
-
It's a pretty tricky mod, that's for sure. Not a good idea then I guess.
-
Thank you. :)

Yeah, I'm too chicken shit to mod my console as well, but I would gladly pay someone else to do the deed if I didn't already have a converter card. It would still be cheaper (or at least no more expensive) to pay someone else to mod your console than to buy a converter.
