Title: Multiplayer Shooters
Post by: FM-77 on June 01, 2007, 05:14:32 AM
Hey doods, I'm looking for multiplayer shooters for the PCE (any type of CD game or japanese hu-cards) where you can play two players (simultaneously). It doesn't have to be great. I want a complete list.

Forgotten Worlds

Well, half-assed anyway.  You can punch in a code so that one player controls the dude and the other controls the satellite.

Twin Bee

You mean the hu-card game right? There's no CD Twin Bee for PCE, right? Such a game would've been awesome. I love Twin Bee. :)

I don't know of very many two-player shooters.
The only ones in the US are Ordyne and Aero Blasters.  Forgotten Worlds has the lame satellite mode, Falcon is a two-player flight simulator on TE, and Soldier Blade has two and five minute competition modes.  Finally, Galaga '90 allows two controllers to be plugged in but you both control the same ship.  Weak.
Besides Psychic Storm, Sapphire is excellent.  Is 1941 two-player?

Both Spriggan games are only one player according to PCECP.

Shockman!

Buster Bros.!

That's a broad interpretation of "shooter" but if you're going that far you might as well include Monster Lair.

Heck, don't forget that you can shoot fireballs in Fighting Street!  :)

Monster Lair does have straight up horizontal shooting stages inbetween the platformer shooting levels.

I was kidding ofcoarse, but Monster Lair, I "kind of" consider that a shooter.

I second that!

Then Berabo Man must too! And Schbibin Man 3!

Hell, every game on the Engine is a shooter!

Don't forget 1943.  I also vote that Forgotten Worlds counts, even though playing the satellite sucks.

A search on pcecp.com also turned up Fantasy Zone, Hellfire, Legion, Operation Wolf, Parodius Da, Salamander, Space Invaders SCD, and Toy Shop Boys.

Of these games, which ones are simultaneous two-players?

Well, Fantasy Zone, Salamander and Parodius are NOT. I've never played the others...
