I'm really surprised that only one person has signed up so far...

I'm too busy, otherwise I would love to help. Why else would I resort to playing Might & Magic on my cell phone when I'm on the train / subway? :)

Check your e-mail Nod (I didn't want to register at the F.U. forums just to end up being an asshat, dead beat, non-posting member).
-
Well, hopefully I find it among the 1200 new emails I received over the past 2 days... ](*,)
EDIT: I got no email from you, or if I did, it was filtered out by my extremely strict filters, or else I didn't see it amongst the 900 spams that still manage to weasel their way in. This is the very reason I set up the thread on the FU forum to begin with...
-
Sounds like you need a new e-mail address. :P
-
Screw it! You've twisted my arm, I'll register at F.U. You have no one to blame but yourself for spreading my patented brand of insanity. :)

I'd be interested, however, I don't think that I would be able to have enough time to test.
(Qualifications: I do software development for a living: http://www.ciena.com/products/products_CatenaView_product_overview.htm . Granted, I tend to work in the field of squashing bugs rather then filling in bug reports. :P)

I signed up
-
I'd sign up, but don't have the time to beta test an RPG.
Besides, my input could only make it worse.
-
I registered for the forums, just awaiting approval.

Beta testing, that’s interesting. I’ve always wanted to try it out but I don’t think I have the hardware to do it, or is this going to be through ROMs and an emulator?
I definitely have the time to do it since I’m out of school for a while. I’ve been playing video games non stop, just beating those games I had trouble beating during my childhood.
If you guys don’t get 10 people before the deadline, I’ll gladly help you guys out. :P

You won't need actual hardware to beta test, although having it certainly helps. The emulator of choice for beta testing is Mednafen because of its precise accuracy, and I'll help people get it set up if they don't understand how to work it (it's not trivial to use so it's completely understandable if someone can't figure it out). The game will be distributed to the beta testers as CUE+ISO+OGG with a decompression script.
-
Is there a port of Mednafen for OS X?

Yes. (http://mednafen.darwinports.com/)

There are still some spots left on the beta team. At midnight EST June 30th, we will accept no more applications.
You've been warned! [-X
-
I've been spreading the word wherever I can think of to spread it!
-
The list will remain open for 22 more hours, then it will be closed and the final team will be selected from all successful applicants (I say 'successful' because 2 people didn't give complete information like the forum post asked for). So, if you want to get in on this, now's your chance!
-
Less than 40 minutes to go. I don't think anyone else is going to apply, but just in case, the list remains open until midnight. It will be closed then, and the final team will be selected. The first closed beta will become available shortly after midnight tonight.
-
18 minutes, we've still got a few spots left! Step right up and test your might!
-
With only 5 minutes left, can Goku defeat the mighty Freiza before Planet Namek explodes? Find out, on the next Dragon Ball Z!
-
Now with only 8 minutes left before Namek explodes.........what the? Now there's more time?
-
Too bad, so sad, beta positions are now closed!
-
The beta test team has now been selected. If you've been selected, your rank on the forum will have changed to "MSR Beta Tester" (with the exception of Black Tiger, who is already an honorary member of the group). If you didn't get selected, it's not because we hate you :) it's because you didn't fill out the requirements completely. But fear not, our next game will be up for beta testing in the early months of 2008, so there's plenty of opportunity to get in on the action at a later time! We will be running these closed beta tests for all of our releases, so there will always be something new to get in on. :D
