Title: Space Invaders
Post by: nat on June 20, 2007, 06:24:18 AM
....are invading my space.

Actually, I need to know how to access the Space Invaders "remake" on the cart. I understand there is some kind of code I need to enter at the regular game's title screen or something?

A quick glance at www.pcecp.com (http://www.pcecp.com/) make no mention of how to do this. Only how to access a "Black and White" mode and a "Rapid Fire" mode.

My lazy disposition prevents me from doing any further web searching on this subject. Especially when I have this fantastic forum right here at my fingertips!

I thought that both the old and the new versions were selectable from the title screen.  You're not thinking of the two player version with anime backgrounds are you?  I think that that version is only found on the later CD game.

No, I'm not thinking of the 2-player CD version.

I think they call the one I want "Space Invaders Plus" or something.

And I'm pretty damn sure it's not selectable from the title screen. But now you've got me second guessing myself. I'll let you know when I get home.

Actually, I think it might be selectable, rather then a code.  But I'm too lazy to check right now :P

Edit-I checked it & found it.  I assume you're talking about the 2 player thing with the girls in the background?  Just mess around with the menu, I think it's the 3rd of 4th one down after you press start at the title screen.

You must be talking about the CD version.

I am talking about the cart.

The cart has no menu.

But there is a (hidden?) game on it called "Space Invaders Plus". It even shows it in the manual but it doesn't tell you how to access it.

I played the Hu-Card and I remember the 1977 remake and the beefed up version on it which had fancy backgrounds, weapons and other things. It sounds like the game you are talking about, but I'm guessing it isn't since you can access it from the title screen.

No, that sounds exactly right.

Is that what that option on the right does? I never really noticed it before.  #-o

I think so - I don't have it anymore, as I never really liked it, to be honest. I think it's there on the screen, or maybe you just press select and you get it, I honestly can't remember. But it's easy to find  :)
