Title: CDROM internals
Post by: WoodyXP on August 05, 2007, 12:47:51 AM

I've heard that the TG16 CDROM is identical to the PCE Briefcase model's.  Is this true?  I'm thinking about picking up one to use for spare parts.  Thanks for any input.

I read that the detachable CDROM module itself is interchangeable.

Yeah, they are the same. The interfaces are different (the plastic "base" thing), and obviously the color, but other than that they are the same.

Yea,they are interchangeable with no issues,no mods needed. The black drive actually looks ok on the briefcase, but a white discman on the TG looks kinda crappy.
