This is a question for everyone, but Mr. Helgeson specifically:

I remember you compared Veigues Tactical Gladiator to another game... or, to be more precise, you alluded that it might have been a direct port / adaption / rip-off of some other game. So, what was the name of this game?

I am too lazy to search through the threads (especially because the search function is severely wonky!). If I remembered the thread, I'd be fine (I'd find it myself), but I can't remember the context in which Veigues came up.

 Thanks in advance :)

hmmm, what game could it be  :-k

Veigues Tactical Gladiator was a port from the Japanese PC-8801 game, seen here: http://www.gamearts.co.jp/history/main/pc_vei.html

Another page compares Veigues to another game, Rogus.  http://www.geocities.jp/rip_gamer/rogus/rog_top.html

Ha! Apparently. You know what I'll do: I'll simply ask him on the next thread he participates in.

I remember the end of the game was a bit of a cliffhanger for a sequel but nothing ever came about.

Maybe someone will have to do something about that someday 8)
