Sorry it`s original and not PROMO or backuped! Also is this a mythos ....1996 HUDSON brings offer 5000 stored Sapphire offer teh market. The real and fake check is a mythos to serve the big prices arround the scene!
;-)
Buy it or quit please!
-
I don't think you'll find anyone willing to buy your "real" Sapphire without a picture of it.
-
I'd go to $25.

The 'big prices' were only around until the 'fake' copies showed up. Then people started to pay and buy less because of all the crooked sellers offering bootlegs as 'real'.
Even if you really do have a legitimate copy, no one will buy it from you now outside of a secure refundable transaction like eBay + PayPal, since you've already called the very real bootlegs a myth.
In other words, you can't vouch for its authenticity since you're ignorant to the counterfeits in the first place.
But if it is real, why not sell it for $400 on eBay instead?
-
I'm aware of the price drop this game went through but did it plummit even more recently? isn't $125 kinda low for a non fake copy?
last i looked complete origionals were still hovering around the $300 - $250 mark

Thats why everyone is so suspicious of someone offering a super discounted item without pictures who denies that bootlegs exist. :P

lol that's the funniest post I've read for a long time : bootlegs are such mythos that I and 17 of my friends actually own sone. We must have found them in the twilight zone. Had it been a real real Sapphire, you would ask at least 300 bucks for it. Of course, you know it.
By the way, aren't you from Germany, the country everyone knows sapphire bootlegs all come from and where they even were printed?

I wouldn't make generalizations like that. Besides, the guy who I'm %90 sure actually made the Sapphire bootlegs writes in perfect English.
-
regardless, the bootlegs were printed in europe.
-
I thought they were printed in Switzerland? or were they printed in Germany by a Swiss company? or do the answers to these questions really matter?
-
I have a real one and a bootleg one and can confirm existance of both.

I'm not making generalizations : 2 years ago, I and 17 other members of Necstasy, French pc engine forums, ordered a batch of 18 new bootlegs to a german guy (named Mathias as far as I can remember). We made an inquiry about Care4data, the company that printed the bootlegs and we discovered that this company was swiss or german (I don't remember exactly) but what's for sure is that the bots were printed in germany or in switzerland.

Hi;
I'm the guy who ordered the batch of 18 new Sapphire 2 years ago for the French forum members.
Time have passed and i don't remember exactly, but i'm sure that this order come from Germany, and the guy that sell us those bootleg was called Tobias. Very cool guy who made discount prices for our big order; About 35€ for a single copy.
Few pics, just for the fun:

Yes, we all know of the German connection. My copy came from Germany as well. What I'm getting at is:
By the way, aren't you from Germany, the country everyone knows sapphire bootlegs all come from and where they even were printed?
It sounds like you are assuming everyone German is involved in a Sapphire scam or something. Like, that selling Sapphire bootlegs is a specifically German past-time, and there is a bootleg Sapphire store in Hamburg or some shit. Regardless of whether the guy is German or not (I'm not sure why you think he is, but maybe you just know something I don't) the thing is probably a boot, but people all over the world are selling these things now. At this point, for all we know the ratio of real to fake Sapphires might be 1/1, and I'm sure a great deal of them have all been exported from Germany to places like the US, and Japan.

hey redfield1, are you slanging any of those?

Even if he isn't currently, he should be.
When you're having sex, two girls is definitely better than one. Somehow that philosophy doesn't translate well to justify having multiple copies of Sapphire around.
-
Hahaha, I'd like to get down with two sapphires
-
I'm French and i don't understand the word "slanging".
Do you mean trade ?
I have just made this order for friends and i only got a single copy nowadays. Sorry.
... Red ...
-
sorry about the language barrier dude, slanging means to sell something.
-
don't feel bad Red, i'm American and i've never heard that term either.
-
Me either.
-
So, who wanna buy his genuine Sapphire :^o for 125 bucks ?
... Red ...
-
I might be willing to buy it for $1.25 or even $12.5, but I'm guessing that we'll never here from this dude again. Ha-ha, busted! :x

Funny, I always thought you were of Russian descent.
Me either.
Apparently you folks don't buy enough drugs.

Nice catch! At least no one bit on this guys scam. He probably would have had better luck on a less informed forum.

Ha! A blast from the past.
Thank goodness Black_Tiger made the über-useful "how to identify bootleg Sapphire" all those years ago...I can't believe it was so long ago!
