Title: Did Keranu get a girlfriend?
Post by: Joe Redifer on August 12, 2007, 05:22:18 PM
I haven't seen Keranu around that much.  So I can only assume he's been pussywhipped by some girl.  That's usually what happens when people disappear suddenly, especially with their "first" real experience.

Either that or he died in a really cool lawnmower accident (sell the pieces on eBay).

I'll buy a piece, haha, jk. Ya, he probably did get a girlfriend. Or a job maybe. Or maybe even went to college or something, who knows.

If his new girlfriend looks anything like the chick in TRON's signature, I don't blame him. Not one bit.

Doubtful to all the above except maybe the job theory,as he always seems like the type to have his priorities straight,as in get money and buy games, worry about girls afterwards. I have nothing but contempt for relationships these days myself. Mine tend to last 2-5 years at a time and I always want out of them in the end. These days I am really enjoying the freedom of just being by myself and just worrying about my kids, and not dealing with greedy stupid selfish jealous f*cking women. My last ex was extremely jealous of my kids when I took back custody of them. She started to treat them like crap, and had these double standards of her kids compared to mine like if one got into trouble. Needless to say I left that relationship.....

IIRC, Keranu has just been having some problems either the the net or with his computer.  And Mike, my suggestion is to let the girl walk into your life.  That's what worked for me anyways.  Whenver I tried to find a girl, things never worked out.

Personally, I thought he and the Frozen Neutopia folks were busy working on stuff.

But maybe it's just a simple problem with getting online, as someone suggested.

Don't forget, this is Keranu, folks.

Hell, you can do that when he's around too - he doesn't mind.

My theory is that Keranu's spending his time with a hot chick that sports root beer flavored edible panties.  It's a nice thought anyway.

Seriously,I'm happy being alone,Ive been in serious relationships since I was 18,thats 12 years I can't get back in some ways. I don't have regrets, but I know enough now to know what I do not want is a relationship right now.

I used to be like that, I stopped whining about wanting a girlfriend(as I never really ever had one) & enjoyed the single life, it was great, then the woman who is now my wife waltzed into my life, & I'm really happy not being single now.  So, so far, everything has worked out for the good.

The E! True Hollywood Story of what happened to me

As I reached the peak of my stardom of fame in the 80's, I started hanging around the wrong crowds. Instead of looking for new hot flicks to star in, I slipped my way into the night life of hanging out in clubs with the hottest celebrities and sniffing lines of coke off any woman I wanted to. My drug addiction got so bad that I couldn't even land a role in Munchie (http://lazerdorks.org/cheesymovies/munchie/index.html) and before I could realize it, I was diagnosed with HIV. Time went on and AIDS was taking over my body and my cure for it was to inhale as much coke as I possibly could while playing rounds of Insector X over and over. After beating Insector X for the 956th time, AIDS had won and I laid dead on top of my Genesis (first model of course) with the "Jackin'" song of Insector X looping. But then one dark night, lightning struck my grave and I raised from it! Now in the new millenium, Keranu is BACK and this time as a CYBORGNETIC ZOMBIE and posting on PCEFX once more! THE END!

For those who were really interested, a thunder storm broke my DSL modem and instead of paying $50 for a new one, we switched to a cable internet service.

Wow. Is Crete, like, in the sticks or something? Or did they just recently fire everyone from your local power plant? I think I can remember only one power outage here in recent history. It was last winter when it snowed so much a large branch buckled under the weight and snapped a nearby power line.
Title: Re: Did Keranu get a girlfriend?
Post by: Joe Redifer on August 14, 2007, 01:47:43 PM
We never have power outages out here because our power company went down to Best Buy and bought one of those APC UPS power supplies (or whatever they are called) that have a charged battery in them.  The entire power plant is plugged into that, so there are never any hiccups.

Dude, a month or two ago lightning hit a tree next to our house (I should take a picture of the huge, cracked, barkless wound). Anyway, this caused a surge and ALL OF OUR PHONES broke. No joke. WTF?!! Our router was toast as well.

Thankfully, no damage to computers or our TV.

Long, long ago, lightning struck nearby and destroyed everything in the house connected to a phone line.  That included all phones and my computer which had a dial-up modem.  It literally fried a hole in the motherboard.

Man, we have a ton of trees in our backyard and they get hit pretty often actually. Most recently (like a month ago) lightning took out a main branch off an apple tree (our only apple tree!)! Luckily lightning hasn't really hit any trees that are actually next to our house which could cause some big damage (especially the one out front that has a telephone line going through it!)

Hot damn! A friend told me before about how thunder storms can destroy your computer if you're connected on a dial up modem but I wasn't sure if that could actually happen. I find it amazing that it actually fried a hole in your motherboard!

Lightning loves phone lines.

I think the hole may have been in the processor instead of the motherboard.  It was one of the two.

Have you ever gone outside to the box that connects your ADSL to the phoneline and had the lightning resistor CRUMBLE in your hand? It died admirably in the line of duty, and just like a T-800 completed it's mission and it's prime directive, but DAMN.

Lightning is a harsh mistress.

We have power outages, almost every summer.  So many people using up power with the air conditioners, now that partially includes myself, as I have one of those air conditioners where you stick the exhaust out the window, but everthing else stays inside.

You people and your lighting. You obviously all live in the midwest.

Here on the west coast, we are lucky to see a single bolt of lightning during any given year, and it's usually a flash 10 miles away.

About the only natural disaster we really have to worry about are your friendly neighborhood earthquakes. Of course, I'd rather contend with an earthquake any day opposed to hurricanes, tornados, floods, or having to worry about being struck by lightning.

That's about right, even further north up the west coast. The only differences are more overcast days and some of the drizzles become showers. But still no biggie.

However, I'm all too familiar with New England winters-- my family is from New England and I still have some that live out there. We have a vacation house & property just outside Bath, Maine. I've got family all over from Bangor down to NYC and over to Connecticut. I enjoy visiting during winter, especially Christmas. Like you mentioned, out here we're lucky to have an overcast day and maybe some rain on Christmas day. Growing up I was spoiled every year with a "white Christmas" and it's just not the same here in the west.

Yeah, I moved back to the northeast because 95% of my family is here as well.

Bangor. I used to go camping in Maine and travel to Bangor because it was the only place to do stuff at night. And by "night", I mean "after 5:30 p.m." I did go to Stephen King's house (allegedly, anyway... the woman working in a small record shop might have been teasing us... but the house she directed us to did have gargoyles on the gates) just for the hell of it.

For someone who spent virtually half his childhood in Maine, I'm somewhat embarassed to say I never visited Stephen King's house.

Yeah, I moved back to the northeast because 95% of my family is here as well.

No surprise, considering 95% of the country's population lives there.

The other 5% is distributed as follows: 4% in California, and 1% is spread across the interior states, concentrated in towns such as Crete and Bumf*ck.

Sonofadirtybeeotch!  I had a response to your comment and it disappeared too.  Sounds like the aliens abducted and probed the forum and left Keranu alone.

Anyway - Don't they salt the icy roads in Colorado?  They like to season the piss out of the streets here in Nebraska (making for lots of delicious rust).   Although, I suppose that's better than wrapping your ride around a telegraph pole.

Some places still use salt, but people find it less delicious these days than it used to be, so they are using some form of chemical deicer.   Who knows what that's doing to our vehicles.

My mailbox has some rust spots on it, but it's probably as old as the house which was built well before I was born.  The neighbor always manages to get rust on his trucks after a few years... not sure how he's doing it as other vehicles on the block do not rust even though they are older.

In K town they salt the streets so much that I don't go through a car wash afterwards, I just park my car in a pasture so the cattle can use it for a salt lick.

Mmmmm..... Salt! Add that to the list of reasons to stay out of the midwest.

On the rare occasion things ice up bad over here they usually just use sand I think. Although it's been a while so I'm not sure anymore.
