Does anyone have a complete listing of all the arcade card games?
Does anyone know where I can find King of Fighters 95' for the PC Engine?
-
You have been misled, there was no KOF 95 release for Arcade card. The only Neo ports are Fatal Fury 2 and Special,Art of fighting, and World Heroes 2.

So what was the deal with KoF'95 on Arcade Card? I've always heard how there was rumors it was being made, but was anything about it actually true?
-
Someone should make a master sticky of things like this, as well as all US games and all SGX games.

I seriously doubt it. I've never heard of it. KOF95 didn't come out in the arcade until midway through 95, meaning that a console release would have been something for early 1996, and I don't remember much of anything for PCE in 1996.

This FAQ is amazing for questions like this:
http://www6.airnet.ne.jp/wataru/pcefaq/pcefaq.htm
Its in Japanese, but not that hard to figure out if you know kana or are just willing to put effort into reading it.

I've never heard anything about a KoF port for PCE. There definitely wasn't any news of it back in the day and its probably just another internet age rumour like Sapphire's PSX-shaming real time 3D.

Good point, I never thought of it like that. I didn't even realize that a console version would've had to come quite later after the original release.

As for the games that are enhanced anyone have shots of before and after for comparrison? kinda like the awesome SFII thread?

I've never personally played any of the "enhanced" games, but from my understanding the only differences are fewer/faster load times using the Arcade Card since more of the game can be stored in memory at any given moment.
If there are any visual differences in those games, I'd love to hear about it too.

Im not sure about any visual differences in any of the games i have played but vasteel 2 has added and improved sound effects.

3x3 Eyes, when played with the Arcade Card, boasts the most impressive cinemas you're ever going to see in a PCE game.

Agreed.

I played 3 x 3 Eyes for what seemed like several hours and didn't find any impressive cinemas other than that one intro cinema at the beginning.
There're lots of nice looking stills, but it moved so slowly that I eventually gave up and went to sleep. I'd like to finish playing through it someday, but it was so boring for me that I can't bring myself to play it over other PCE games that need my attention.

does the added ram on the arcade card make all cd games run smoother?
-
does the added ram on the arcade card make all cd games run smoother?
Nope - games have to be specifically programmed to utilize the ram.

What he said. The additional RAM is invisible to games that aren't specifically programmed for it.
Although most games run pretty "smoothly" just the way they are so it shouldn't be a big deal (in most cases).

I haven't played much of it either (got to the part when they are on a snow mountain getting ready to ski). I think the opening cinema is enough to convince that the cinemas are some of the nicest in the PCE library. The other two or three cinemas I saw in the game afterwards were equally impressive as well. I love the way they combine FMV and hand drawn still shots.
-
The cinemas in 3x3 Eyes (none of which are FMV, btw) are pretty awesome. With the arcade card in, only the intros (one before title screen, one once you start the game) are enhanced. Well, the ending might be enhanced but I haven't finished it yet. The load times also change a bit since with the arcade card the the intro has at least 10x as much animation, but takes f*ckING FOREVER to load. The worst load on the PCE. Worse than a Neo CD. Even worse that Street Fighter Zero 1 on Playstation (the bench mark of load terror).
Nevertheless, anyone who loves PCE should own this rather cheap game just too see how badly the AC went to waste. Those intros are very very impressive.
-
Yeah the loading time SUCKS for the Arcade Card version of 3x3 Eyes! I still think the SCD version of the cinemas look pretty damn good too though. I'm not sure if I agree with Zeta though about it being worse than Neo Geo CD loading because games like Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 on Neo Geo CD and the later KoFs are pretty damn awful.
