Title: TG-16 + ________ on display at local library
Post by: esteban on August 15, 2007, 06:25:28 AM
A fellow decided to put his (dirty) consoles and games on display at his local library. (http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2007/08/14/consoles-take-their-rightful-place-in-the-public-library/)

Personally, I think this is very kool. I would have wiped some of the dirt and grime off the items before sticking them in a display case, but I think the library is in Missouri and, apparently, it's really dusty out there.

So, this dude rocks because he includes TG-16 as one of the consoles... but what boxed game does he couple with our beloved console?

Yes, that's right, he chose _______________________. I think it's pretty funny. Runin (and nat?) must be proud.

For close-up shots of the game in question, go here (http://gapporin.livejournal.com/53657.html).

Say it with me, steve.

DEEEEEEEEP BLUE.

That's right!

This fellow obviously has much class and sophistication!

That's the best place to keep Deep Blue - sealed in the box and unplayable.

Hey, I'm trying. I already have the U.S. version, but I bought a sealed copy of the PCE version of ______ _______ as well. I keep telling myself that I'll play Deep Blue again, but then I remember how much more fun I've had with Rastan Saga II.  :)

That is awesome that that dude donated that stuff to his local library, haha. I wonder if the librarians play them at night, haha.

That's so rad! I'm assuming he used Deep Blue either because it was the only TG16 game he had that was complete with the cardboard box, making it nicer to display, or just for jokes. That Turbo Grafx 16 looks super sexy in that lighting!

Yes.  I completely agree.

More likely it was a game he didn't mind parting with.

He is just loaning it for a month to the library... he said he chose games that he likes or highlights the system! :)

How do you know the game is even in there?

How do you know it's not just the box?

I know a pristine Deep Blue HuCard is in there. :)

I still have a factory sealed copy of Deep Blue. I need to bust that bad boy open here one of these days.

I'd make an event of it! Like opening a coveted bottle of wine that has finally matured, these TG-16 games should be taken seriously.

I'm saving my sealed Wallaby for the next nerd party at my house... :)

At the moment I've got Buster Bros., Deep Blue, Dragon Spirit, Fatal Fury 2, and Ordyne. I think that's it for sealed stuff. Most of those except Buster Bros. I already have open copies of.

And yeah, I tend to like to open them when the setting and mood is just right. Totally agree.

Don't get your hopes up. Wallaby's more of a management sim than a racing game.

Ahh yes, the joy of opening sealed games and sniffing out their fine aroma! One of the finest feelings in life.

Crap, crap, crap! Why would they do that to me? Crap.

Oh well. Now my dreams of Motoroader+Kangaroos has been dashed to pieces.

Thanks for the heads up... I'm going to have to stick with my original plan now: a Spin Pair competition :).

Guess what: If any of you folks have two GT's and two copies of Spin Pair, tell me how the TurboLink is! I'm serious :)

Hey at least the title screen for Wallaby was pretty funny from what I remembered and the wallabies were cute!

I had been hoping for at least a horse racing style game with wallabies. If its any consolation, at least the people in the game who enslave the wallabies are bunnies. So its an entertaining premise.
