Title: Efera & Jilora, HELP
Post by: MrFulci on August 21, 2007, 01:02:04 PM
I've been playing this game off and on the alst few days. It was reccomended to me by someone on this board, when iw as looking for more ARPG's.

So far, it's been alright. It's no Neutopia, ahhaah.

I'm playing as Jilora.

I'm stuck. I figured out the maze of trees. Took a while, and I had to make notes of which side of each tree was "safe", other than that, no major problems.

After going through that maze, I made it to a castle (Enemies are knights, red shields and gold shields). Inside the castle was someone i spoek to in a room, and 2 chests. One chest had a sword that brought my attack up to 60, and the other chest, i forget what was in there.

I went into the tower. Navigated that maze, and the awful black-outs. I made it to a room with a dragon statue that spits 5 firebals every 2-3 seconds. To my right and left are spike walls closing in on me. I died here about 30-40 times. I figured that since the spiked walls flashed when i hit them, they must be what I need to destroy. The Dragon doesn't flash when i hit him.

After 30-40 deaths, I attempted to dash through the spikes (Special power equipped). Well, ti worked! Though, it seems to be a bug. At the moment, the spikes are closed in the center, the CD audio track has looped three times, and I have a weight on the attack button, attacking the other side fo the closed spikes. These spikes are not going anywhere, ahahha.

At the moment the caracter is still slashing away, however nothing is happening with those spikes.

Help me out. Did I miss an item? Should I equip a different sword? Something is wrong/missing...

Never mind... I just tried dashing and slashing many, many times at the dragon statue. The thing broke.

That's a silly boss. Generally, if I attack something, and it flashes, I assume I'm damaging it and attacking the "correct" area.

I don't remember having that problem with the boss. I like how you also add weights to the attack button because I would wrap a rubberband around my control many times while playing the game to level up. One time I did that and I went outside to go play basketball and my brother pointed out how you could see the TV in my room from outside and all you saw was Efera slashing away at monsters with no one playing.

I got the idea from Black_Tiger which he wrapped a ruberband around his controller to level up in Ys III and Dragon Slayer ;) . Rubberbands work pretty well, it was hard for me to find some weight that could balance on the controller sturdy enough.

For such trickery, I've used a miniature c-clamp with a piece of felt to eliminate scratches.

That's an awesome idea! I don't have any little clamps, but maybe one day I'll get one if I ever have to perform such a task again. I was a little concerned about wrapping a rubberband around my controller as I had to wrap it pretty tight and I was afraid it might cause damage to the controller.
