This isn't anything new really, Pulstars have been a common word to describe dead stars that spin. You can learn more about them on Cosmos!

Cosmos ROCKS!!! Carl Sagan ROCKS!! :)
Pulsars are cool as hell. Black Holes absolutely intrigue me though.
It's amazing that Einstein actually theorized black holes, but dismissed himself because he didn't think god would create such a destructive force. But in the end they do exist and we can thank them for us living in the universe we do.
I guess eventually all the universe will be is a bunch of black holes drifting through empty space. But I guess then wouldn't they eat each other up and then eventually the only thing left in the universe will be a super giant black hole?
...I just blew my own mind. lol :P

I'm fascinated by blackholes and the kind of desctructive power they have.
Still all these theorys about them still when man reach's the stars, maybe one day they can be proven but i doubt it will up like this.
Heh my favorite movie by disney.
Btw i've herd,Stephen hawkings theorys also on black holes. He's been mock for it but he has some good points.

There was also another theory about black holes being portals to another universe. If that theory ever proves true, could you imagine how awesome that would be? :D

Yeah, pretty interesting stuff. But then that just begs another question: Is that "other" universe actually a separate universe or simply an extension of our own universe. I guess what I'm trying to say is that the discovery of "another" universe will put into question what we define as the universe.
As for black holes, I'm pretty sure it's beyond the theoretical. Astronomers have found them and figure that our own galaxy has millions of "small" ones floating aimlessly around waiting for dinner. Hopefully our star doesn't have the pleasure of meeting a black hole. Then there's the giant massive black holes at the centre of every galaxy. That would just be scary, and deadly, to witness.

Pretty much there is a blackhole in the center of our galaxy.
It's keeping it from spreading out to due to it's gravity that it generates.
Other, then blackholes are also supose to keep the universe from over expanding.
Interesting stuff non the less.
