Title: extension cable ?
Post by: MurderDate on September 27, 2007, 08:53:48 PM
what's the best approach to getting extension cables for my controllers?   Is there something I can pick up at Radio Shack?   I know most of the other posts that mention TG16 & Radio Shack also mention a time machine.. but I was hoping for something in production in 2007.  Thanks    :-"

Look for 8 pin DIN connectors for the TG16 and 8 pin mini-DIN connectors (like past macs used) for the PC Engine and Duos.  I don't know if Radio Shack carries these anymore, but they are readily available online.  Of course, you could go the easy route and buy them from TZD (http://www.tzd.com/).  With their current sale, a pair of either style of cables will cost only $10 + shipping.

I don't see anything about a sale.  It looks like the extension cables are $10 a piece.

I would love to get a pair of extension cables, but the price for international shipping is waaaaayy too expensive at $31 smackaroos. If anyone here is willing to buy them in the states for me and ship them up to Nova Scotia marked "gift" I'd totally be willing to send money to them.  :) I think I'll also call TZD and see if they work a deal or something.

I was going to buy a duopad from them but I found some cheap three button controllers on eBay.

Very cheap mini din 8 extensions, http://www.monoprice.com/products/search.asp?keyword=mini+din+8

I'm not sure if they ship to Nova Scotia. If not, I'm sure someone here may be able to help you!

Wow!! Thanks for that MrFulci.   :)  I didn't realize that's all I needed. I'm going to check The Source (used to be Radio Shack) for those. But if not I'll definitely be ordering a few of those.

Awsome. Thanks man.

I never thought about that, but now that you mention it, we should start painting them black!

I've always thought about it, haha. How would we go about painting them? Spray paint?

Problem is, they're cables with a rubber or nylon coating which is flexible and deforms. Most normal paint, like most spray paint, will peel after it's dried as a result of the cable deforming during use.

Spray paint your Duo and its controllers to the exact hue of the extension cable.  Problem solved.

Genius!! Genius!!   :P

Well, no such luck so far in terms of local shopping for mini dim 8 extensions. I still have a couple more local resources to check out, but if not I'll just order online. They're super cheap too.  :)

Not sure if it was the same person. Another cool "mod" was when a guy on the ME forums made a TG16 case out of wood! Even more amazing was when one of Kaminari's friends or something in France made a really good replica of the PCE Core Grafx out of wood!

Haha, I doubt it. But that guy who had to make a wooden case for his TG16 did since it had all the parts inside.

I'll try to find the pics later on the ME forums, but they might be gone now since they reformatted the forums a couple years ago. I probably have them saved on my computer somewhere, but it will take awhile to find since I save soo many pictures!

I know what you mean. I have the same issue.  ](*,)

What you need to do is put the porn in one folder, and then everything else in another folder.  That way you'd find any non-porn picture in less than 10 seconds.  Finding a specific porn picture could take years, however.

I try to organize my folders, but I get lazy over time and keep saving everything in the "My Pictures" folder and then say I'll move them into their proper folders later :P .

Joe has the right idea.

But for some reason, my porn folder takes up 20.56 GB and my "other" folder is only 5 MB.

Sounds crazy Joe and nat.  I can't think of any reason to keep pics in separate folders.  Why would anyone save something that isn't pr0n?

ceti alpha tried to download pron, but all he got was this stupid message board.

TurboD only has 6.78 gb of porn  :( He had better get to downloading

That 20-odd GB is only what's on my hard disk. I also have a 54 burned CDs and DVDs full of the good stuff.

I've been meaning for some time to try to make a giant sized PC Engine or TG-16 system that would actually play games. :P
