Title: The Greatest Video Game Box Art of All Time
Post by: Black Tiger on October 05, 2007, 05:30:08 AM
This list of The Greatest Video Game Box Art of All Time (http://www.gamerhelp.com/article_viewer.cfm?article_id=129520) is full of covers that make every Worst Box Art list and tosses in a bunch of bland covers that don't deserve to be on any list.

I'm guessing that the author is from Europe, but thats still no excuse for some of those rotten covers like Megaman 2.

It looks like they spent two minutes grabbing a few random games off a shelf and just posted whatever turned out to be in their hands.

Very lame lineup. Who actually thinks Zelda cover is great? I'm really disappointed they forgot Guardian Legend.

I can't find that hyper-creepy boxart for some Famicom game, it used traditional-style Japanese art, it was VERY creepy.

One of my favorite covers of all time (though technically this isn't the real cover, but has the same artwork):

This (http://img520.imageshack.us/img520/8948/ninjani3.jpg) the best Cover art of all time, IMO.

That just rules, and the fact that it's on cassette makes it even better!  I wish some games came on records (vinyl).  Or maybe 8-track!

I thought the early SNK games came on something similar to an 8-Track..

The closest I can think of is the Halcyon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halcyon_(console)), which used CEDs!

Bump dat, Foolio. Even the Wiki tells you the CEDs were just for the prototype. The final version used the forum-fave-format, the LASERDISC. ^_^

The console failed because Thayer's Quest sucks.
